Expert opinons on Zenmuse Z15-5D and Vulcan UAV build ordering parts

Hi

I am going to build a copter with the new Zenmuse Z15-5D gimbal and Vulcan UAV octo frame. There are two reasons for frame selection:

A. S1000 is not available yet
B. S800 was bad at beginning and it is possible that S1000 might be as well. Vulcan on the other hand seems to have really good rep and it is reasonably priced.

My setup is going to be

- A2 or WKM controller
- 5s lipos that I have a lot for my other copter, a Cinestar-8

I would like to have some advice and opinions on the frame/motor/esc choice:

1. What frame? Mantis or Skyhook? And X8 or traditional octo? I need to fit this thing into the trunk of my Skoda Octavia estate wagon.

2. What motor and ESC? As told, I´m going to fly the copter with 5s 5000, 5800 and 8000mAh lipos. Dual battery setup. The possible vendors could be uavshop.co.uk, globe flight.de or Kopterworx. I have Kopterworx KW8Pro and Maytech 60A on the Cinestar and I am happy with them. On the other hand my Cinestar is flown with Red Epic, so I could do with a little less on the 5D camera ship? I am happy with Maytechs, but they do not have the Simonk firmware. Should I go with Simonk ones this time?

3. think I need these

To mount DJI retracts and Zenmuse to the copter. But do I need something else? Also, is it wiser to hard mount the gimbal and retracts to the bottom plate of the copter rather than use the gel isolation plate?

4. Does the Vulcan frame fit this power distro board?

I would like to use it as it cleans up the wiring and has 12 and 5v out.

All comments are greatly appreciated as I have no first hand experience on the Vulcan UAV fame. Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I would go with our kw9 motors and kw60 esc or maytech if you had 6s setup. For 5s it would also be ok but i would still go for kw8 and you have two kopters for red as backup while with 5d it Will only fly longer and have less heating. Yes power board fits.

So you mean with 6s setup KW9 would be better and with my current 5s setup KW8 would be better? I have invested a lot into 5s batteries, so naturally I would like to use them.
