ESPN using drone at X Games in Aspen

Not sure who is flying for them but I don't recall ESPN being one of the companies approved for a 333 exemption. I had heard from a journalism prof that is involved in the promotion of drone useage that there was an alert at the Aspen airport that a drone was seen flying in the area. Watching the X Games this afternoon the on-air personality proudly announce the first time ever use of their very own drone. Seems like they are using at the top of the boarder-cross course and it follows the competitors down a portion of the course. You can hear the machine, it looks like an X8 from the shadows on the snow. Glad to see one used in network TV, happy for the bloke's flying this week and wish them much success. Looking at this as a positive for the industry.

After much due diligence, ESPN settled on Vortex Aerial in Los Angeles. - See more at: http://www.c2meworld.com/creation/espn-deploys-drone-to-cover-winter-x-games/#sthash.Ft5IV62D.dpuf
