National Drone Racing Championships on Governors Island in New York City August 5-7, 2016. This will be the first nationally televised drone racing event to date and the start of launching Drone racing into the major leagues. To tell us more about this awesome news, we had the pleasure of talking with Sahand Barati, CEO of IDRA. Sahand spent over 45 minutes with us talking about the IDRA, Drone Racing in the USA and around the world, as well as a lot of background information on IDRA, Rotorsports and the deal with ESPN.
Also in this episode, Petr discovered a problem with the new firmware for the DJI Phantom 4 as well as the Inspire with regards to battery power and flying in the wind. The firmware will reduce the amount of power to the motors when the battery level drops below 50%, and when flying in windy conditions, this can leave you without enough power to return to where to took off. Petr explains what happened to him and gives some tips on how to avoid it from happening to you
