Here is a short video of the Very first flight we did , It was raining slightly with moderate breeze and we are just setting up gains etc .
Batteries are mounted at the front with some dummy weight added, Using initially 5s Lipo and then moving up to 6s for further tests.
But for a very first flight the results so far are promising .

Hi Geoff,

it would be cool if you can comment on the ESCs and how easy nor not it is to change them if necessary. What holds them in the arm screws etc. Do you see a problem changing them if one of them brakes or the complete arm has to be changed ?

Thanks

Boris

Hi Boris
The esc are accessed by removing 4 screws below the motor mount on the underside of the arm. Looks like simple job for motor replacement but the esc cables look to be copper cable going down the middle of the arms .
It looks tight in there to be honest but probably possible to change them if your good with a iron .

Only literally had 4 mins flight with it but seemed very good on maiden .
I need to work on cog settings and gains a little more but I was pleasantly pleased with it .

Geoff, I know that every craft has differences, but as these S800s all have exactly the same 'content' so to speak, surely the COG settings and gains, etc. are all going to be identical. They currently have gimbals (when they become available) for certain and particular cameras. My guess surely would be that the settings for 'set' equipment and weights would be identical from one craft to the next...or am I missing a point here ? Have DJI provided any figures to enter on this ?

I have not asked for any settings nor have any been provided , I personally prefer to set my own machines up because it gives me a better understanding of how the gains affect things etc .

A Quick video and build pic are updated on 1st post .

Rob dont be like that :)
I think the mail man went round the globe the direct way this time to the Uk sometimes they go round the long way so just lucky with speed of delivery .
Pity weather is awful here though as I really wanted to get some footage of the S800 flying properly

I thought it was more efficient to follow the jet stream. :)
