DJI NAZA + Sunlight

Hello,

I've read on a few threads that I should put some black insulation tape on the "left" side of my flight controller (mine drops when there is sunlight about!)... only trouble is... which way is left?? ;)
Could someone maybe post a picture of their 'mod' to the flight controller?

Hey Rob, stand behind your MR and if it's going forward the left is like the driver side door on your car as far as direction.

Hopefully that helps

Tape or foam blocks sunlight from altering the barometric pressure sensor (inside the Naza) reading. The sensor measures tiny air pressure differences then converts that to an electrical signal (voltage) or data stream that the FC acts upon. The sensor itself is either light or temperature sensitive, even being inside the white plastic housing, when sunlight hits the left side of the Naza, the sensor puts out inaccurate data that the FC is responding to.

Here is a blurb about this type sensor (not the one in the Naza, but similar concept) "The sensor die is sensitive to light exposure. Direct light exposure through the port hole can lead to varied accuracy of pressure measurement. That's great! thanks everyone, that makes sense now. I'll be bringing my f550 to a sunny country and it'll need this mod :)
