I want to make a trainer cable for connecting a Futaba 8J to a Futaba 8FG-S.
I think iv looked at so many trainer/buddy box iterations that I can no longer make a sound descision.
Pin outs on the Futaba square 6 pin din connector are:
1: NC
2: GND
3: SIGNAL OUT
4: +V
5: +V SWITCHED
6: SIGNAL IN
The manual for the 8FG-S says it cant be used as an instructor (master) without a "special" voltage converting cable.
However it can still be used as the pupil (slave)
Would this be the correct connections for a trainer cord that makes the 8J the master and 8FG-S the slave?
The 2 bridged connections (pin 4 and 5) on the 8FG-S disable the RF Module.
Im fairly conversant with electronics, I just dont wanna screw up 2 very nice radios!
Also, from what Iv read the master is the radio transmitting. Can you do it the other way around?
E.g. Copter is bound to 8FG-S. Then use an 8J as master so you dont have to put the 8J's RX into the 8FG-S's copter...
Looking forward to clarity
Thanks guys!

Futaba 8J | -> | Futaba 8FG-S |
GND (2) | -> | GND (2) |
SIGNAL IN (6) | -> | SIGNAL OUT (3) |
+V (4) BRIDGED TO +V SWITCHED (5) |
