It was on Radio 4 this morning that Amazon are hoping to start trials in Cambridge for the delivery service. Not sure when or how as I am not sure the CAA are even in a position to give the thumbs up. What it does prove though is that they are genuinely pretty serious about this. There are masses of hurdles to get over to make it a commercial reality but don't underestimate the corporations!

I've seen the job listings on their website as well. Just can't see how they'll get permission for unmonitored flights everywhere when we find it very, very difficult to get permission for monitored l.o.s. flights in London. So still think years away, if at all.

This is actually several months old. It's first flight was grounded due to "high winds", which IMO, weren't very high at all at I think 40 km/h? It just shows how a large quadcopter is a really bad system to be using for a job like this.
