I assume you mean carefree mode? No, it will work at any range, just don't move once you take off so you know the proper orientation from the starting point. The GPS on the other hand will go catatonic if you set a waypoint beyond the 250 meter range, it will fly to the edge of the limit and just sit there.

I have a weekend coming up where I want to follow my MK in a car down a dead straight forest road up in Scotland.. being able to fly in carefree will save the stress!

For me, comfort flying is just hovering in the back yard after a hard day. Maybe even just put on Altitude Hold and GPS Position Hold and drink a beer while I guess what sort of flight time I will get today!

It's been a long winter of building things, only a few of which work. I had some comfort flying earlier tonight and now I can't sleep!
