Not an hour after reading a critique of collet style prop adapters, I decided to slap mine on a motor just to see them in action. At this point I'm hoping I'm just a colossal bonehead and that I have them on incorrectly. Otherwise it appears I would need another part not included in the motor package (why they would leave off 1 piece from a complete kit is beyond me!) or that I have to trim the length of the shaft ???

that gap between the lower part of adaptor and the motor body is about 8mm.

thanks for any guidance.

That’s everything.

A lot of guys just leave the shaft long and use the adaptor, but that can lead to vibration. personally I’d cut the shaft, but be careful! I’d leave a 1mm gap from collett to base of shaft.

Thanks Sleepy. I don't think this will work without cutting it because it seems the prop would just want to lean over like a weeping willow tree...

not it to mention it'll probably take a noob like me a minute to bend the shaft that long :). I have seen another piece called a D-180 I think that screws onto the body perhaps? Acts like a spacer???

appreciate the response.
