CheChiChopper - heavy lift hexacopter

Just started this new build of a heavy lift hexacopter.
The idea was building a hexacopter that can comfortably lift 3 kg besides the lipo's needed to fligh for 8 min+
So this one will carry a 5D with a gimbal without a problem.
Weight without gimbal with 12000mah lipo is 4,5kg
Can give 15kg of thrust so the AUW of 7,5kg is no problem, hovers at 12amp per engine with efficiency of 84-86%

This is the result...

Hexaframe full carbon
6x 4240 750KV motors
6x 40amp esc's with large custom heatsink
6x carbon props 15x4
WK-M
3x 4000mah 4S 25/50C

forgot to order the program card for the esc's so flying has to wait for now :upset:
will post a video when it flies.

Don't have to change it but I like the extra cooling on the ESC's
ESC's have a small heat sink but this is insulated with heat shrink witch blocks good dissipation of the heat.
It's a small job and maybe this helps it from coming down because of a burned ESC

Nice I think it will definitely help out with cooling, I added some bigger heatsinks to the escs on my Octo and it worked great. Did you use the program card to modify the escs settings, how does it fly?

Yes had to modify the with the card. I never use the tx/rx. find this to unreliable.
Haven't had the chance to fly it yet!
2 weeks vacation and now two weeks of #%*(@#$ weather

Waiting for the buggy WKM gps to return.
Modifying the gimbal to external pot meter for the roll.
Had swapped it for the new version witch is much better but the guy selling it $#(|<$ @$$ and gave me one with only external pot meter on the pitch.

I think it's a Chinese guy in Germany or something, The Chinese have a hand in giving a picture/description/specs of something and then shipping something that looks a bit like it but is not anything like it.

So it's still on hold.
Just finished a bumblebee for someone else.
Now building a discovery for my self.

The balance was not to good out of the box.
But they were very cheap compared to other engines this size.
The idea of this rig is to use only the cheaper stuff but still with quality results.
Only used an expensive FC.
