Cheap FPV with receiver?

I looked at that also, what's the range on that Vtx? I see they sell a Nano QX using that Vtx camera setup so it's obviously very small and light.

Thinking of putting one in my 180 QX HD to get the hang of FPV.

I have the 180 ax he and the quad flys great With the camera on. I would say the rang at max would be 200-300ft. You might be able to go futher with more flat ground. But that is what I used to get into fpv and it worked great for me.

Thanks

Make sure you get the RP-SMa Male for the boscam (it's the little box near the price to pick the type)

Boscam FPV 5.8G 8CH AV Wireless Receiver RC805 $23.39

FPV 7inch TFT-LCD Monitor HD 800x480 Screen for RC Model $54.19

Total $111.23 with free shipping to Canada. Plus no duty and tax (not sure why they get in like that but they do)

Now if you have a gopro hero 2 or 3 then a cheap $2.00 cable will be all you need. For a camera if you need one or don't want to use the gopro cameras go from 12 to 100 depending on what you want. The moniter I put up there works with NTSC and PAL it auto switchs and just works no modes ect to change for the camera.

Note: you also need a RCA cable or conector since both ends on the receiver and moniter are female so you (they yellow red and white cables are super cheap and everyone has tons of them so)

FPV 1/3 Inch HD Color CMOS 600TVL Mini Camera PAL $24.63

That's 1 I put on a plane it works ok it's colors aren't very good but it works.

How you mount the attena on the transmiter makes a huge difference in range I like mine pointing doward off the bottom instead of up on the top of the craft I find that gives me the best range the lower the better so I mount mine on landing gear right in the middle.

10mw max range I got was 800 meters'
200mw max range I got was 1900 meters
400mw max range I got was 2600 meters
2000mw max range I got (no clue radio maxs out at 3000 meters)

All were using the same attenna setup and reciver. Now if there is a solar strom expect your range to be cut down to almost nothing. You lose half that range or more. Now with better ground station attennas I could have allot more range but that's good enough really.

Skyzone googles work with boscam stuff as well so if you want googles and have 500 bucks to spend then you can get a pair. I tried them and didn't like them I like the LCD as switching betweent he craft and the moniter is instant I like to sit in a lawn chair with the moniter in front of me then point the radio at the craft and fly around. Simple and easy to do. I make flying allot safer as you can see people walking up to you with googles you get supprised when something comes over as you don't notice them as easy. Now the trick is once you fly with the moniter commit to flying with the moniter don't switch back and forth as foward on the mointer is always fowards you get confused if you switch allot but once your used to knowing ok I'm pointed that way it's simple.

1 thing I do recomend is an OSD that tells you what voltage your lipos are at so you know when to turn around and simply don't run out. With out it people fly way to long and supprise down it comes. Hobby king has a mini OSD it's 20 or 30 bucks with the voltage sensor. It's worth getting something like that. I fly 4s lipos I know when I hit 14.0 volts it's time to come land I turn around at 14.3 if I'm out there and by the time I get back they're 14.0 It all depends on conditions ect.
