Can't activate a camera shutter button with servo anymore

Someday Finally Got Here
NAZA, F450, GPS.
I have been using a 6 channel Spektrum receiver for months on the above with complete success. I found a way to operate the shutter button on my GoPro with a servo but that required a 7 channel receiver. Made the switch and used 6 channels exactly in the way the 6 channel receiver and all works great.
The 7th channel also operated the GoPro perfectly when setup on the bench. Uses a toggle on the radio to activate.
First time to actually field test the unit and the servo freezes up and hums in a neutral position now. Changed servo with another known good servo and same results. Just hums and starts to get hot.
I'm thinking a BEC might help but the quad already has 4 ESCs so overloading the output of the ESCs doesn't sound likely??? or does it because the functions are all operated thru the NAZA? Except for the camera.
Can I use the one unused channel from the NAZA to operate the camera servo???????
Hope the above makes sense.

Update on my problem:
The original servo was a used one and I guess it just gave up. Replacement servo was brand new but not too high on the quality list. It was faulty right out of the box. Next servo works perfectly. BTW: heres a link to the YouTube video that I used to facilitate the conversion of the GoPro to a servo actuated shutter. Very easy to do and very economical. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arfWAxm7yd4
