Camera Quick Release?

Hi all,

I am assuming it is not advisable to use camera quick release plates (such as Manfrotto 577) on aerial gimbals. Is that correct? The idea I had was to standardize between glidecam, tripod head, and gimbal, but that would add a mounting 'point of failure' and potentially affect balance, right?

Cheers.

I've seen people use this type of plate. If it can do lateral adjustments - even better. I think you'd need a replacement bottom section to donate to the gimbal so it is permenantly attached to the gimbal camera tray. Maybe not?

Really depends on what gimbal you are using. On a MOVI or Gremsy type gimbal you could totally use one. But yea, you would need a donated receiver to canabalize and mount to the gimbal.
