I am learning to fly the Phantom 2 Vision. I periodically lose the camera Wi-Fi connection when distance appears to be within limits. This occurred several times when I was flying over Klyde Warren Park in Dallas. There were lots of tall buildings nearby so that may have been a factor. But I want to make sure I am calculating the distance/range correctly.
I know what the range of the extender and remote controller are per the users manual. But it is not clear how to account for the altitude of the Quad. For example, say I need to fly a maximum distance of 300 meters at an altitude of 400 feet. Is there a formula I should be using (like the Pythagorean Theorem) in order to calculate the effective/actual distance?
