Brushless Gimbal Power

Ok, sorry if this has been discussed before, but I'm not having too much luck searching for it. The question may seem ridiculous to many of you, but I'm very new to the game so here goes.
My son and I built up a x650f frame with KK2.1 controller and basic 200mw fpv setup and have been flying it more and more now that the weather is better (of course now that there's no snow, there's wind). We cobbled together a homemade servo driven gimbal and tied it into the stabilization capabilities of the KK board. It was ok, but not great. The servos had a lot of stutter and from what I've read, that seems to be par for the course.

So we crashed a few weeks back and destroyed the gimbal (just as well), but now I'm planning on building a brushless setup. I just received the 3d printed gimbal frame from Mike at KlinkerAeronautics and I'm waiting on brushless motors to come and I'm trying to decide on a controller. The one I have my eye on is: http://witespyquad.gostorego.com/rtf-v4-brushless-gimbal-controller-with-imu.html

So, my big question is and I can't find this anywhere: Where do I get power? are there dedicated batteries for the board? Can I piggyback off fpv battery or main power? Both are running 11.1v, but the power looks to be 5v.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mr take no prisoners!
Depends on the board, some will only work from 3S so if you are running a 3S setup just power straight from the battery or grab a 12 volt BEC and drive it off that.

That controller says it will run from 4S but 2-3S so I would get a 3-5a 12v BEC and run it from that.

You could run a separate 3S pack for it but more complexity and more charging that you don't need.
