Best aerial pictures with Sony nex5 AF or MF?

I'm using Sony nex5N taking aerial video (and snaps). Can I get just as good videos (focus and color) using Scene Selection (SCN on wheel) and choosing Landscape or would it be better to go to manual focus?

you want to run it full manual if you understand it and can set it up right......otherwise, send it up for some scene shots and see how it goes. I'm an automatic guy.....

landscape works good, that sunset mode is amazing if your not into properly exposed footage that looks cool. can't see the ground... dynamic range isn't deep enough

this is kind of a cool example, first half is a gh3 in manual with somebody that gets it setting it up, then second half is me with a nex on sunset scene mode
