battery solutions

I am needing to get more batteries for my F550 using the DJI stock ESC/2212 motors.. I have APC and Graupners to use so what ever works.

I was sold 4 units of 4S 4000mah 35C-70C to get started.. but quickly found out that the flight time was too short.. I am looking at getting a longer flight time and have been reading others are using as low as 20C packs.

What is the lowest C-rating I should be looking for for a 6000mah and up.
Also, does it cause the motors/ESC to heat up faster if you get to low of a C-rating?
I would like to achieve 15mins or longer, but wondering about battery pack and what combination will work without causing the ESC or motors to heat up so much for that kind of flight time.

Thanks in advance for any input.

20C packs are usually more than enough. Really you should be checking with eCalc - get the figures to agree with your current results then you can change batteries to observe the effects.

Lower C rating also means the voltage will sag more under load, effectively delivering less "punchy" performance - eCalc accounts for this.
