    Ok should we worry

Pressure cooker! :tennis:Thats good. Although I think most of the uninformed public fear is that drones will be used for Big Brother types of activities, and not terror weapons. Interestingly a few hours ago my good friend called, he is a military pilot. He stated that the U.S. military frowns...

    Ok should we worry

I agree. Politicians and Lobbyist have no problems with using semantics, spin, double speech, and deflection tactics to further their agenda. We may have to fight fire with fire, to save our hobby. Also. With the general public, perception often becomes reality. If you were to ask 100 people...

    PC or Mac?

Built my first hackintosh around four years ago. It's a stand-alone music server running Amarra, the thing has been on and connected since I built it. It has never crashed or required much in the way of maintenance. Set up a pc based music server running IRiver software for a friend(die hard pc...

    Silicone Wire

Exactly, solid core retains it's shape which is an advantage when p2p wiring a busy layout. Also, there is less chance for a stray strand to cause a short. It breaks easier though, and is easy to nick when stripping. Not good for MRs or any aircraft. Cheers, Shawn

    Silicone Wire

I make my own tube based audio gear. Wire choice tends to be highly subjective, heated and based on little science in that hobby. Over the years I've experimented with numerous wire types, and found few differences between them. The boutique(hi-end) wire is purely snake oil; golden ratio...

    Really PC only?

The emulators are still slow as heck, but they are more reliable now. I pulled my superdrive from my MB and installed a solid state HD which I use to run Windows 7 and OSx. I purchased a kit to make the superdrive portable. I run 3 memory and storage hungry Windows apps on a regular basis...

    The Ten Commandments of FPV

Lost count, but I think we are on 15 or 16. Know the rules and regs for your area of the world. Pilots operating illegally give the lawmakers more ammo to restrict the use of this technology. Cheers, Shawn

Dear DJI, you've got a problem

10x3.8 is the only pitch available for the new 10" props so far. The APC 10" props are available in a couple of different pitches, and are about the same price as the DJI. Be sure you are ordering the new DJI props, some dealers are still selling the old ones right along with the new. Cheers, Shawn

Dear DJI, you've got a problem

How did you get them(gemfans) to fit the 8mm shaft on the dji motors. I received a set today, guess I am going to have to invest in a reamer. Cheers, Shawn

Dear DJI, you've got a problem

Thanks for the replies, I found out that the props are stamped. Old version is 1045 and the new props have 1038 on them. Unfortunately I have the old ones. Cheers, Shawn

Dear DJI, you've got a problem

How would I determine if I've received the older 10" props vs. the new design? I received my kit 3 days ago but I don't think that means a thing. If I can't find out one way or another, I'll go the better safe than sorry route, and replace them. Cheers, Shawn

Octocopter at the Arnold Palmer Invitational 2013

Forgive my laugh at everyones expense.:highly_amused: It is great to see the folks who use this technology professionally gaining inroads to the mainstream. I guess I will have to keep my subscription to the Golf channel. Cheers, Shawn

    Greetings from Colorful Colorado

Hello Gents, thanks for the welcome. I live in a rural area east of Fountain. I spend much of my time in Woodland Park, I work in the lab of the regional hospital there. Garret, I went to school at CSU, that was a long time ago though. My f450 was delivered today, looks like I'll be busy...

    Greetings from Colorful Colorado

Hello all, decided to go ahead and join after a few weeks of lurking. Long time Heli and Plank pilot, thought I would try my hand at this fast growing niche of the RC hobby! Ordered the ubiquitous f450 with naza and gps, monkey see monkey do you know(lol)! Looking forward to the build though...
