    Flying at Altitude

Hmm you're right. I just finished watching that video of MR "I'm gonna fly my new phantom in downtown manhattan". Guess that's why I jumped to the conclusion. Sorry guys. I retract my comments except for that "fly safe" one :)

    Flying at Altitude

Ok better get this going before some dumbass does it and we have 5-10 lb birds falling all over the place. First of all, FAA regulations will soon restrict us to 400 feet altitude. Second, at that height, your little fpv camera is not what is considered "having control of your aircraft"...

    Flying at Altitude

Sorry guys. I'm here to bust all your bubbles. Flying at these altitudes, no matter where, is unsafe. If I have to explain to you the implications of flying at these altitudes, you shouldn't be flying. Dan

a newbie looking for a copter for professional gopro filming

Tiki did you order that thing yet?? Hahaha sorry I got a little carried away with other projects lately. I see you are scared to fly! That's why we recommended the Naza. It is the easiest thing out there. Once your radio is properly setup, taking off is literally a one stick affair. Raise...

a newbie looking for a copter for professional gopro filming

Well the I I extra inertia goes without saying since it is a larger frame. I'm going with your intention to get into the hobby: aerial video/photo. To get a nice video, you will need quite a few pieces of equipment. All this will add significant weight to the machine and that's where the 450...

In my opinion, The Dji F550 would be more suitable for you Tiki. The extra lift capacity gives you room to make a decent platform for videography. Coupled with the new brushless gimbals coming out, it will be a respectable machine. The 450 be cheaper but you will hit your weight limit much...

    Try to beat this!!!!! UNREAL!

Hehehe I think many of us aspire to fly like Juz. I'm guilty of getting into this hobby just watching his videos. Never even thought about looking at who posted the videos, was just blown away by them. 2 months later and I have spent lots of money and keep practicing. Next up is the TBS :)...

Which do you prefer? Flying through Goggles or Monitors?

Preference is based on application! Monitors are great for others to see and to glimpse back and forth to the platform, but when it comes to immersion, it's goggles all the way! I kid you not, with the goggles on the higher I go the more freaked out I get LOL And there is nothing like...

Should I keep investing in 5.8ghz video?

Well I think all bands have their issues. But 5.8 has potential, especially where I fly (farm land). It's great, glad I went that route. I also took your suggestion and got the Pixim 0513. Still working on setting that up since I get a weird bloom on the bright white snow that washes away any...

Should I keep investing in 5.8ghz video?

Hi Kloner, Just wanted to say thanks for the help. I went with your suggestions and the 5.8 crosshair makes a HUGE difference. I have it setup on my Dominators for now and try to roughly track position with my head until I get a diversity and tracker. Went out 1500 feet in any direction and...

Do you use "Thread locker" on F550 Propeller Nuts? - CRASH -!

Never had problems with damaging props by using lock tite. But then again I don't let it drip all over the place. You can also use a serrated washer with your nylock nuts as double security but it won't be pretty to remove it.

Do you use "Thread locker" on F550 Propeller Nuts? - CRASH -!

I use blue thread locker on any metal to metal screw/nut/bolt. Don't take chances, thread lock the shiznit out of it. Dan
