Heavy Lifters - where are we up too?

They may referred to structural breaking point of the center section, which does not necessarily modify the AUW. The booms alone, if they are quality composite, may stand up to 500-700KG applied to a 500mm long tube. Here is a video about testing a CFC tube...

O no another battery question lol wookong settings

I use temperature telemetry for batteries, i don't care about ESC temperature because there is no way to overheat them if they're big enough to handle the maximum current. LIPO temperature is important to avoid puffing them when go near the limits.

    Getting Frustrated

Motors should start in the exact same time. It still seems like a ESC problem. Just try to move the ESC to other motors and see the result.

    Getting Frustrated

When you switch modes is normal for motors change RPM when you hold it by hand. Throttle on ATTI or GPS modes has not to much relevance because is overridden by the autopilot. The problem where only two motors start and the other 2 start at 40% throttle sounds like the ESCs of this motors are...

O no another battery question lol wookong settings

With the settings i gave you first time, if you land between first and second level protection you will be around 85% of capacity. If the multirotor lands itself on second level protection you will be close to 90% of capacity. These are safe settings which I suggest you should use if you don't...

O no another battery question lol wookong settings

Well, as I said it before in another thread... There is a 80% rule of the LIPOs, you may find a lot of chats subject searching google: "LIPO 80% rule". However, this rule is about a 10 year old technology. With new generation LIPOs i found that is ok to go even close to 100%. I go usually go...

That rule is a bit outdated, we usualy go here up to 90%-95%, but that's just our conclusion.

    1. A fully charged Lipo Battery is a 4.2V/cell, that is 12.6V for a 3S Lipo. 2. I suggest about 3.6V/cell per cell for first level protection, this is 10.8V for 3S LIPOs. 3. For second level i suggest to not go lower than 3.3V per cell because you might damage the Lipo pack, for a 3S this...

    naza gps mounting

No, it can't be upside down. And yes double sided tabs are perfect, but only after is on the right position in relation with the nose direction, otherwise you might have to take it down for adjusting the correction angle.

    Octocopter RTF Distributors

I will definitely not recommend MK to someone with no multirotor flying experience. MK is a very good FC but is for experienced pilots only, especially when you go directly to heavy lifters. I would recommend DJI but not before reading all about the problems of this FC. Also, if you are US...

    8400 Zippy Lipo's

Zippy are weird, some of them performs very well, some have really ****ty performance. Top of weirdness was when one of the Zippys puffed while was stored in perfect conditions, at storage voltage and low temperature. Another Zippy which puffed during a normal flight, recovered after a few...

    3s vs 4s batteries?

...a very accurate statement, but not so relevant in hovering flight, where the voltage output to motors is regulated by the ESCs to achieve the RPM necessary to hover. The only relevant difference from this point of wiev is the maximum RPM. The 4S will have about 20-25% headroom of maximum RPM...

    Naza acting very strange.

If everything is ok and suddenly goes crazy it sounds more like a ESC problem or contact issue. Are you flying in a hot area? I suggest check the wiring for poor contacts, then monitor the ESC temperature.

    3s vs 4s batteries?

The ESCs will draw more AMPs from the 3S batteries because of the lower voltage, and the flight time will be shorter even with that 520grams less on total weight. 8 minutes is a good time for you built and changing the number of cells or mAh is not the answer for longer flights. Just get more...

Do the motors speed up or slow down??

If your rotor has symmetrical configuration, when you move the stick an any direction the motors will equally slow down and speed up proportionally with your stick move. But in the same time all motor will speed up equally to compensate for the loss of height. This is done automatically in ATTI...

    Motor / ESC Testing

It sounds ok but make sure you are in manual mode because mode ATTI and GPS are autopilot modes and your amps measuring in related with throttle range is irrelevant. Also be very careful when you test with props on! Be sure the craft is securely strapped on the table! Prop cuts may be very ugly!
