Hi @Ancistrus01 nothing on a HexaCrafter frame is weak. They are precisely constructed and extremely strong, motor mounts and all. You will not be disappointed if you go that route. Also according to T-Motor spec U7 is cool with 17-18" prop.

We are building a custom solution which has already been designed. What we're looking for is a decent commercial off the shelf gimbal to allow for prototyping to start now as opposed to waiting for the custom stabilizer to be ready.

neat idea! you might have some fun getting into APM-based flight controllers such as Pixhawk (AUAV-X2 or Pixfalcon are smaller alternatives) to try out autonomous flight too. Cheers!
