    Phobotic Centerpiece Brushless Gimbal Controller

If you want to test a gimbal board to see how well it handles horizon issues there are two things that you can do that will tell you everything that you need to know. First off you need the camera pointing at something with a flat horizon, not hovering behind a big bushy tree in a hilly...

Gimbals just got a HUGE help.. could be the perfect video!

I will be very curious to see if sun flares in the lens will be smoothed out. Typically if you have vibrating footage going into Warp Stabilizer the sun flares will still be shaking once the footage has been processed. I can't imagine that this will be any different. Wayne Mann...

    Phobotic Centerpiece Brushless Gimbal Controller

Hi SamurAchzar, Thanks for the info. A lot of the gimbals would support it, the problem is the end user would have to retrofit the feed back sensors to the gimbal, which would open up a whole can of worms. But the professionals among us will do whatever is necessary, including spending quite...

    Phobotic Centerpiece Brushless Gimbal Controller

Hi SamurAchzar, Will we ever see position feedback sensors for each axis like DJI and FreeFly uses on their gimbals? They can get away with much smaller motors than we can with AM based controllers as the motors have much more power around center with feedback sensors. Wayne Mann...

    Phobotic Centerpiece Brushless Gimbal Controller

Subscribed, You mentioned being able to tune the amount of accelerometer vs gyro being used. The AM boards have this ability as well, as you probably know but, on the AM boards if you give the gyros as much authority as possible the accelerometers still have too much leverage. If the camera...

Looking for a Board Camera for a 5D Mark ii

The field of view with the camera I was using is the same as looking through the viewfinder as it was a wide angle camera. It covered the entire viewing area of the viewfinder. With live view you loose auto focus on the 5D which is very important as I have to get fairly close to some objects...

    XAircraft SuperX on heavy lifter

Hi guys, Well after doing a bunch of research and asking some questions I came to the conclusion that my X Aircraft woes with my Octo were largely due to ESC settings, so I went from a PWM of 8 to 12, which is the highest setting in the Hobbywing 60a Platinum ESC. I also went from 0 timing to...

Looking for a Board Camera for a 5D Mark ii

Hi Ronan, No the board camera is attached to my video downlink. It lets you take pictures using the mechanical shutter as opposed to having to use live view and the electronic shutter. It is strictly for framing shots. Wayne Mann

Looking for a Board Camera for a 5D Mark ii

Hi Guys, We do not do a lot of aerial photography, but we do have to shoot some occasionally. I am having trouble finding a replacement board camera that mounts to the view finder on the Canon 5D Mark ii. The connector on my board camera which is quite old finally took a dump and I can't...

    XAircraft SuperX on heavy lifter

Another quick question. The Ultra PWM setting in the Super X controller, can that be used with other controllers like the Hobbywing 60a Platinum ESCs or is that a specific setting for X Aircraft's ESCs. Thanks Wayne Mann

    XAircraft SuperX on heavy lifter

Hi Kloner, I enjoyed your Wind Tunnel video. This is the only wind tunnel I have access to and unfortunately I get to fly in these conditions all too often: https://vimeo.com/104156202 This was shot with my Wookong Octo with a mount that I built especially for the Gh4 which uses the 32 bit...

I guess what I am asking is what motor timing is everyone running with the Super X and is everyone using SimonK firmware? Thanks Wayne Mann

    XAircraft SuperX on heavy lifter

My Octos are extremely rigid. They are not flexing rubber bands like the DJI S1000 for example. That is why I can run very high gains. I don't run the gains that high on my machines, but they will tolerate it for testing purposes. Wayne Mann

I mean that I can run both the GUI gain and the gain knob turned all the way up. The AFRs in my Futaba 18 MZ for the gain knob are set to 30 and 30 as per someone else's instructions. Wayne Mann

    XAircraft SuperX on heavy lifter

Hi guys, I have an Octo with the Super X controller that flies ok in calm conditions, but is very unstable in windy conditions compared to my other Octo which has a Wookong M for guidance. The Super X Octo has Ovroto 3520 400kv motors and Hobbywing 60amp Platinium ESCs. The ESCs do NOT...

    XAircraft SuperX on heavy lifter

Hi Tim, Yes, I flew it in manual mode a couple times just to see how it felt. It wasn't hard to fly it just wasn't very stable and I had the base gains at 1.4 I am not sure how it would have been if the gains were at 1.0 or less. Wayne Mann www.HeliCamHDmedia.com
