Looking for multicopter clubs in lower NH, lower ME, upper MA

Hi Bart, I live in a large retirement community with a mowed, grass entrance field of about 5-6 acres, which is where I presently fly. There are, as above, several RC clubs within about 10-20 miles. Last fall and earlier this year, I emailed the contact info but recd. no replies, so that's my...

Looking for multicopter clubs in lower NH, lower ME, upper MA

Hi Bart, There are several RC clubs nearby, however none are with multi-rotor sets and don't seem to want to talk 'our language', and their meetings are few and far between. So… even tho I have checked for clubs a few months ago on AMA, I haven't found any. I'm more than willing to start a club...

    350 QX flies sideways~ ?

Hi Steve, You don't say what brand and type of controller you use. I use a Spektrum DX6i and initially I fly only in Safe Mode, making sure my final light sequence is a solid green. After placing the quad on the ground (usually on a flat cardboard about 2 ft square). Then I move directly back...

Looking for multicopter clubs in lower NH, lower ME, upper MA

Hi Bartman, I'm a 'member' in about 4 different forums (incl. AMA), and enjoy the ability to add, solve, enjoy, educate myself, with all layers of RC multi-groups. I'm starting my 'second childhood' at 81 yr old. Last year, I was planning to do a 'George H.W. Bush skydive on my 80th, howver...

    Blade 350QX2 with GPS fails

Reply to both; Yes, I took both camera and transmitter off, and yes, I'm using a 5.8ghzTX. However, GPS antenna location was possible culprit. BUT JIC, I did try to cover my bases with shielding, GPS antenna reconfig. etc.

Hi, got the multicopter bug here in Southern CA

Hi all! What a great group of people who are looking for fun times with our "new" hobby. As a "newby" as of late 2014, I have enjoyed all sorts of forums related to quads of all kinds. I have a Blade 350QX2, Spektrum DX6i, shielded Mobius camera, Blade GB200 gimbal, transmitter, Skyzone goggles...

    Blade 350QX2 with GPS fails

Hi John, Since my above, I have taken my quad apart, lined the inside lower section with aluminum foil tape. Purchased a new shielded Mobius camera, and shielded my transmitter. Additionally, I re-positioned the GPS antenna and smaller GPS unit from a vertical position on one side of the battery...

    Blade 350QX2 with GPS fails

I've had my quad for 5 months and added a GB200 gimbal with Mobius (unshielded) camera. Flying with a Spektrum DX6i radio. Had a few good flights and excellent videos. All flights in Safe mode. Average time to GPS set, about 2 min. NOW THE PROBLEM! ///////////////////////// I want to do FPV...

Hi, I'm looking to join up with or create an RC quad group in lower New Hampshire/lower Maine. I've been flying my Blade 350QX2 for about 6 months, looking to "graduate" to FPV and competitive flying. Please respond to this thread with willingness to connect off-line. THX RicMac

    Two Flyaways in a row!!!!!!!!

//////////////////////////////////////////////// UPDATE!!! (although rather late): Long story short. Was contacted on phone by a "biggie" at Horizon, Illinois. He said a new 350QX2 RTF has been shipped to me. ALSO… a brand new DX6i radio! He asked if there was anything else he could do for me. I...

One Transmitter can control simuntaneously a lot multirotors ????

I would say it's possible…IF your quads have reasonably good GPS settings. If each quad is placed a reasonable distance apart (say about 10 ft.). Then start them (without motors on) Make sure each has indicated a GPS "lock". That should, hopefully, when starting the motors and arising...

    Two Flyaways in a row!!!!!!!!

Hi Firefly! Without flying the Blade in all modes, I have checked the lights and what they are supposed to show for each mode. Everything OK. On each flight, I always use either the Return Home switch on my DX6i controller, or turn off the controller. Each time, the quad will land at least three...

    Two Flyaways in a row!!!!!!!!

8/26/14 Update After I took the quad and DX6i controller back to the hobby shop last week for them to give it (them) a "once-over" I stopped by yesterday and talked with the owner, who is very knowledgable on the subject products and RC. He suggested since both quads did a "flyaway", he wanted...

    Two Flyaways in a row!!!!!!!!

I have the manual. The"behind-the-counter guy" is very knowledgable. I also believe when he tried my DX6i controller with a Blade Micro quad in the shop, that it was not a good enough demo that the controller was OK for my Blade 350QX2. That's why I left the quad and controller with him. I'm not...

    Two Flyaways in a row!!!!!!!!

This reply to all… I do have the DX6i manual. I know all the switch positions for mode setting. If one is remotely familiar with what a controller is and supoosed to do in each configuration, then I'd confess I'm on the stupid side…but I have stated in the beginning, I am a total neophyte when...

    Two Flyaways in a row!!!!!!!!

Hi Buzz (fello Scotsman!), Since Safe Mode is for "beginners" I have stayed with same until I'm comfortable with the whole system. All my switches on the DX6i are set Back. I'm interested in several subjects with my quad. 1. FPV on vacations at the ocean, mountains, lakes, etc. 2. FPV for...

    Two Flyaways in a row!!!!!!!!

Hi, Please see my complete thread. Spektrum DX6i, Safe Mode always, I have not hooked up any FPV system yet. As for the original Blade 350QX, I have, since first flight, landed with a "Return Home" setting of the DX6i. I have no idea as to the number of sats. I do start only when the green...

Need advice in setting up FPV using Skyzone Goggles, etc., etc., etc...

Hi Acill, Thx for responding. I have the original stick antennas that came with both the Skyzone and Foxtech monitor/receiver(s). So I can experiment with all until I find the best setup. MY current problem (because none of the manuals are specific enough is how do I start the whole process...
