I use an AR 8000. Works very well and has failsafe.

You just have to switch out of GPS mode and then back. This is to take control during a return to home. You do not have to switch modes to activate return to home (fail safe) but you do have to be in GPS mode.

I had it in GPS mode. I just thought it was weird that I had control of the throttle but not yaw. Thank you both for the help.

You do know that the throttle stick needs to be moved above 50% before the motor speed will increase in any mode but "manual", right?

You might try a different USB cable. Mine went bad awhile back.
