    Sony Nex-5n - downlink

There are two gentLED's available for the NEX series: gentLED-SHUTTER (pt# 032) and gentLED-shutterPLUS (pt# 039). The gentLED-shutterPLUS used to be called gentLED-LiveView. All previously labelled 'LiveView' i/r actuators are now termed 'shutterPLUS'. It is the gentLED-shutterPLUS (pt# 039)...

    Sony Nex-5n - downlink

There is no specific setting on the camera other than selecting 'i/r remote' - which you presumably have already done as remote photo works. Question: You ARE using a Sony NEX gentLED LiveView and not just a Sony NEX Shutter Release ?? Rather a basic question but better to get the obvious out...

    Hoverfly is at the RNC

And that's all I'm going to say about that!

    How crashworthy is Zenmuse?

Of course you are correct, Denny, although, and I am sure you can clarify this, a front mounted Cineflex will probably still give the Cam. Op. a good 200° of unobstructed pan. On these MR's, with their underslung cameras, fixed u/c just seems like a bit of a wasted opportunity for two-man setups...

    SJ-800. Yes or No?

I currently have a whole DJI system on order - SJ-800, WKM & Z-15. The Z-15 is holding the whole thing up coz it ain't in stock and that gives me a little time to consider the rest of the order. The SJ-800 Shangri'la Wings is only on the shopping list as an airframe to carry the bit I really...

    Herkules IV arrived at Kopterworx.

If that is DJI compatible and not a pain to set up I am looking forward to it. I am looking for a reliable airframe to carry Zenmuse mounts and I am not yet sold on the Spreading la-la-la Wings.

    How crashworthy is Zenmuse?

or even wait for them to get their products into the retail outlets !! PS. well done for managing so well on an english forum.

    Sony HDR-CX730E UK version

I will be interested to learn whether or not you find the advantages of the BOSS lens, composite video out and relatively light weight outweigh the pitiful manual options, the virtual impossibility to adjust parameters once mounted (especially with that exasperating touch screen), the in-camera...

    How crashworthy is Zenmuse?

That is a rather churlish response. Firstly, I am not attacking you and secondly, I am no expert and have never claimed to be one. To quote your good self: ".. Also the CLP (copter launch platform) 1.0 was used for takeoff and landing, to have free field of view in all directions when paning...

    How crashworthy is Zenmuse?

Yes Ferdinand, I have seen your vids several times. However, THAT is not a solution, it is a temporary workaround. My point is why DJI bother to put SO MUCH effort into first, designing a gimbal that actually works, second, took into consideration the wiring issues associated with 3-axis 360°...

    How crashworthy is Zenmuse?

But by the same token, what sense does it make if a 360° gimbal is limited by a fixed landing gear?

Panasonic GH2 and Sony CX730 comparison

    Interestingly, and bearing in mind the apparent superior clarity in the raw images of the GH2, the CX730 has higher bitrates (same as the NEX-5n and therefore presumably similar to the NEX-7?). GH2 (unhacked): 1920 x 1080p24 : 24M 1920 x 1080p25 : 17M 1280 x 720p50 : 17M Sony CX730: 1920...

Panasonic GH2 and Sony CX730 comparison

GH5 or GH3? Whatever. Better wait for that before getting a Zenmuse then! Don't want to be stuck with yesterday's camera because the new one is too heavy or a slightly different shape and becomes incompatible. I wonder what Panasonic thinks about Sony's BOSS lenses and whether they ought to up...

Panasonic GH2 and Sony CX730 comparison

To be honest I am not feeling that adventurous just now with these hacks. Frankly, there is so much other stuff to get done I cannot be bothered to waste the time on experimenting with the others. They are all going to have the same problem with the 1080 HBR mode not spanning with the Panasonic...
