27 minutes! Wow, I totally missed the bus on this one, I had no idea those things could fly that long. What's the secret, in a nutshell? Edit: Oh, 6S and 320kV motors is a good start. Still, that's incredible. Their claim is only 16 minutes? I assume you had no load?

    Foxtech M700 7" monitor

That's basically what I did too. I cut the straps off, and then hotglued that to the frame. Works fine.

MultiWii / NAZE / SP Racing F3 Will the Apm 2 work with the GAUI 330x frame/bec/motors?

When you say "BEC" do you mean the speed controllers? Are they just standard 1000-2000 PWM units or anything special about them?

I've seen that NatGeo video. I have an SRH that does even better in the wind. ;)

    FAA where are we today

This appears to be the opinion that many people who are currently operating AP businesses in the US hold.

Show what you filmed - Post Your Video Here

Finally got my first video! It's pretty lame, but I'm happy I don't have any jello at all! This is a ContourHD that is rigidly mounted to my vibration damping sled under the quad. Not as much barrel distortion as a GoPro which is nice. It's taken way too long to get to this point but things...

I've also heard the statement that X-octos are more wind resistant than flat Octos. I'm not sure if the reason is because an X-octo has half as many booms and thus less frame to get caught in the wind? Or is it because an X-octo has shorter booms, so they don't get caught in the wind? Or is...

It's entirely possible. But I haven't seen any test results yet.

Huh, I had read that you can solder to aluminum, but I just gave it a shot, no luck so far. :(

Yes, I almost build XH-8, but I couldn't find motor mounts I liked, and the efficiency is reduced, so I just decided to give this a shot.

Yes, I know, that's what I did first. But it makes it very hard to keep motors out of the camera frame.

Yep, that is true, less impact resistant. But if I have an impact like that, I figure the bent spacers is the least of my worries. I would like to come up with a more elegant way of doing this, but I haven't yet.

Are you referring to my Octo? I'm simply going to use some spacers. Won't weight much, and is easily made up for by the savings on arm length. If you're talking about the quad-T-Octo, I have no idea. I didn't get much past the sketching phase on that one.

Found My Distro Board Finally... Powerhungrysystems.com

Well, that is an interesting point. But don't forget that most ESC's have input Capacitors. That will steady the flow. Regardless, we have seen no evidence of problems caused from EMF. It's the magnetic fields on the DC side that cause the real problems with compass alignment. I supposed if...

Yeah, but I couldn't come up with a conclusion other than printed PDB's aren't worthwhile?

    Overlapping Propeller Designs

Sure, you could do that. I've qot sketches somewhere of a Quad-T-Copter. I think you could do something where... ok, make it an X-quad-Octo copter (as opposed to a plus-quad-Octo). Space the motors such that you have 40% overlap on each pair, but no overlap between the arms. Then, put the...
