HK Multistar high capacity, 10C batteries made for MR: Opinions from the experienced?

Go for it! I agree the weight is somewhat negligible. You'll know if its an issue soon enough. Heck, I might even get a set to try but think I might be at the point where the weight for a few Ah may negate the benefit. They're a much cheaper gamble than the maxamps or others.

HK Multistar high capacity, 10C batteries made for MR: Opinions from the experienced?

Not exactly sure I follow first part of question. I fly to South America, depending on research site I have another 4-12 hours of travel via plane and/or bus to small town, and then the full day of travel into the research station. I take everything with me. Typically there is only travel in/out...

HK Multistar high capacity, 10C batteries made for MR: Opinions from the experienced?

Your gimbal is nearly twice the weight too and the motors are 50g heavier a piece. I'm sure it will all be fine but flight times won't be near what I'm getting. BTW - I'm getting ready to post about it in my build thread and the KDE thread, but those KDE triple blade adapters with the DJI 1552...

HK Multistar high capacity, 10C batteries made for MR: Opinions from the experienced?

Nice on the VW Golf! Since I am taking this stuff to remote locations (a days travel via canoe, truck, motor boat to a frontier town = no chargers or PS's there) I always want extra's, that way if one dies I still have one to work with. I haven't timed it but the 106B does a balance charge on...

HK Multistar high capacity, 10C batteries made for MR: Opinions from the experienced?

Exactly, maybe up they get up to 12min. Keep in mind my goal is to map large areas and do the occasional video. I use a Nex 5t and plan to get an A5100 and eventually a multispectral imager (e.g. ADC micro), much lighter cameras than the GH4/A7S. So I want max flight times.

HK Multistar high capacity, 10C batteries made for MR: Opinions from the experienced?

I use an old dell tower power supply and two iCharger 106B+ chargers. I just got the iChargers a few months ago and love them. I did see your other post about what you picked out. If you are only ever going to charge 6S batteries it seems like overkill. But I'm also cheap. I have to be honest...

HK Multistar high capacity, 10C batteries made for MR: Opinions from the experienced?

Just wanted to give another update on the HK Multistar 6S 8000mah batts I have detailed in this thread. I now have 25 flights on one set and 27 on the other. I fly them down to 21.5-21.7 volts typically (about 3.6V per cell). I get between 25-28 minutes of flight time and draw 32-35amps in...

Hoverfly New Hoverfly Forum is now open!!

@Bartman - do you really think they don't have that for their "new" clients? I find it very hard to believe they would want anything without a great gps hold and waypoint navigation.

    R&D Hex for Survey/Imaging/Conservation

    102-157mm rail distance. Even better!

    R&D Hex for Survey/Imaging/Conservation

I would add another two standoff's in the middle (between the outer one's) to ensure it is all stiff enough. I actually think this might work.

    R&D Hex for Survey/Imaging/Conservation

It does. But I think attaching to those with aluminum angle is going to have a good bit of flex? If he is wanting to use the rail attachment setup that comes with the InfinityMR I think he is married to the 155mm.

Hoverfly New Hoverfly Forum is now open!!

Ever since seeing this thread pop back up it has been bothering me. I started with the pre-Hoverfly board from George way back in the day - the QuadPowered board. It was great but went through a lot of trial and error to get there. Then we learned about Hoverfly forming and we were all really...

    R&D Hex for Survey/Imaging/Conservation

I have been looking into how I could do the 155mm wide rail system on this frame and I don't know that it is very feasible. The slide slots for the folding arms are right at this width and are in the way basically. You would need to mount the hanger for the rail system very near the center of...

InfinityMR Universal high performance gimbal for GH4/A7S size cameras

Ok sounds like we'll be good with the cameras I use. The GH4/A7S are considerably larger. Patiently awaiting but eager!

InfinityMR Universal high performance gimbal for GH4/A7S size cameras

So the new one should also be good for Nex and A5100/6000 size cameras too? I sure hope so.

Polatucha Gimbal (Flying Squirrel) - 3-axis

Curious if anyone has one of these? His footage looks pretty good and the versatility of the gimbal seems fantastic. Its light, compact, and appears to be easily adapted to different uses. I know there is a lot of talk about needing dual bearings on axis, etc. but if your using some of the...

    Stratus Productions Wire Vibration Isolater

Has anyone tried one of these yet? Feedback and video would be nice. VERY interested in this for my Quadframe V2 gimbal but want some more evidence.
