Low kv motors vrs high kv motors in windy conditions

I am looking into a similar problem right now. I have a DJI F550 hexacopter with 750Kv 250W motors on it. I want it to be a lot snappier so I bought some 1350Kv 310W motors. I haven't installed them yet as this 750Kv setup seems to work ok but just OK. It has a lot of punch out power and torque...

IS THIS A NEW DIVERSITY CONTROLLER? 4CH w/ included 5.8Ghz reciever???

Man, listen...I don't want to be "that guy" who spends all his money trying to prove he has the better idea. I want what works but I've also invested some money already and I'd like to see if I can get that to work before I buy anything else. Everything is just an idea right now that I'm...

IS THIS A NEW DIVERSITY CONTROLLER? 4CH w/ included 5.8Ghz reciever???

So I take it you are using UHF for your controller then? Dragon Link? I use 2.4Ghz for radio transmission so that's out for me at least for now. Might get a new radio, Futaba 8FG Super, and then I'll add UHF. I was thinking of maybe 1.3Ghz since it's still a low frequency and the antennas aren't...

IS THIS A NEW DIVERSITY CONTROLLER? 4CH w/ included 5.8Ghz reciever???

Did you watch the video on it? It's super fast and there's almost no static at all in the switching, also you can control the sensitivity of the diversity. I do this with 2 antennas already and it works very, very well compared to just one. I can imagine that 4 channels could give you almost 360...

IS THIS A NEW DIVERSITY CONTROLLER? 4CH w/ included 5.8Ghz reciever???

Check this out, what do you think? 4 channel diversity, what could you do with that? Sure would make things pretty compact unless you have big antennas to carry around. I bet you could hook the signal output from this diversity controller into your current 2 channel diversity controller and...

Dfj f550 hexacopter help, motor selection???

Hey everyone, I've had about 14 FPV flights under my belt so far and I'm getting better at flying but the flight characteristics part I'm still learning and trying to understand; I come from airplanes and helis. My DJI hexacopter is a hobbyking knock off version by the way if that matters. Right...

    Show your FPV video

Very clever for the legs, strong and light and works well...well done. Yeah, I use 900mhz so my antenna selection is limited but I get that solid punch through signal so that trees and even buildings usually have little effect depending on the material. I can fly behind houses for example but...

    Show your FPV video

Couple questions, what did you use for the legs that the 330? is sitting up on? Also, are those APC props on the disco? Last question, the CP antenna on the tranmitter on the 330?...what frequency transmitter is that? 1.3Ghz CP antenna? Thanks!

    Show us what you shot.

Is that video raw? Raw in the sense that it has not been artificially stabilized after it was taken? Very clean, very crystal clear...what did you use for the video editing software? Love the videos....

Very nice shooting either way you look at it. I never use the YouTube stabilizer, feels like cheating :D I have no stabilization but that's intentional, it's a camera rig but I also fly sport in it so I like to be able to cut corners and fly fast too not just shoot video. Can't wait to go back...

    from multi-rotor to plane...

I couldn't agree more and now I'm like a kid in a candy store again. I'm obsessed with multicopters and I love my Hexa and Hexas of all kinds, I'm Hex-obsessed or maybe Hexed? :) Humor :D

f450 battery mount - bottom plate

Order some legs, they make a WORLD of difference and are completely necessary in my opinion. I had thought that the legs would negatively effect the flight characteristics of my hexa but I was wrong, it's the opposite. The legs allowed me to added 2 batteries underneath and put my Go Pro knock...

    from multi-rotor to plane...

Yeah Ben, um...ducted fan and you've never flown a plane? Let's start with a Piper Cub shall we? lol... I'm going to get into the flying wings I think, they seem to be a blast to fly and people love them not to mention they are tough as nails and fast yet glide too. I was thinking Dragon Link...

    GPS postion

Good info, GPS for the Naza coming soon for me too. I'm going to mount mine the same exact way JG-rn has his mounted, I think most people do since the screws are there. Kloner, anything we should know about setting up the GPS, tips, tricks, lessons learned etc? Thanks!

Wow, tell me about your camera setup. Obviously you are using a gryo stabilized gimbal of some type. What do you have for just your camera and stabilization? Looks very, very clean and your camera quality is exceptional.

Amazing pictures to all of you! Wow, I love to see those and be able to see the world from a perspective you normally don't get to appreciate. Here's some shots of my Hexa, I'll add some more from in-the-air instead of up-in-the-air. :)

    900mhz Antenna Help DJI F550

Oh I know, remember I've been flying with a Yagi so the beam width is super narrow compared to what this patch says it can do, 35 degrees versus 75 degrees. I just want close in range, close being 2 miles or less. I was thinking at 900mhz and 1.5mw of power it shouldn't be an issue. Honestly I...

    Flying is the easy bit

Hey, I'm new to multicopters too! So, where do you buy your zip ties from? No, seriously...there's a ton to learn and we're all learning as we go. What jargon or abbreviations do you want to know? Share them here and we'll all tell you what they are or learn them for ourselves I guess :)
