    Help with first real drone!

I always recommend a flame wheel 450 for a first larger size drone. Kits with motors, ESC's and FC are pretty cheap and its a decent drone that's easy to build. There are tons of you tube videos that show how to build one and I think there's even a complete build log for one on this forum. Don't...

Other Help me indentify this AC please?

It looks like a good craft with a good gimbal, it has a pretty decent flight controller on it as well. It appears to be in good condition but its hard to say if you cant fly it. Its pretty hard to sell these because there is not a lot of demand for them. This would be used by a business for...

    DJI MAVIC PRO Give-A-Way

Wow! This is amazing, I rarely win anything. Thank you Drone Vibes and the community here! I will get some of that promised video up as soon as I can. Looks like I will be learning a new platform too! Thanks again!

Need Help! Propel Skymaster + FPV

Are you referring to the rubber vibration dampening balls? Those are pretty common and you should be able to get them just about anywhere. Try hobby king if you haven't already.

We are looking for members opinions

I agree that whether we like it or not the word "drone" Has become synonymous with what we call multirotors. I always try to say multirotor and I have even got my wife correcting people who say Drone. We lost that battle in large part due to the media attention given to others that were...

We are looking for members opinions

I would also like to add that if I were searching for a MR forum to check out and join I would pass right over one called "Drone Vibes". The name itself doesn't make me think that I could find anything serious or helpful there at all. One of the things I was originally attracted to with the old...

Another crash & burn, but I figured it out.

Yes, believe it or not it fell from less than 3 feet into a soft overgrown lawn but it came down hard on the one side of the landing gear which I had replaced with some very stiff carbon fiber. So instead of the landing gear breaking it transferred the energy up into the frame and broke the...

New build, are my ESC's or motors broken?

So your ESC's were "probably" shorted but it was the motors that smoked? The obvious answer is both but maybe you could plug in a known good ESC into the throttle channel on your receiver and try each motor separately? If you had your motor orientation reversed doesn't that mean that you spun up...

Another crash & burn, but I figured it out.

Ouch! unfortunately for me that's the best way to learn. I was rearranging components on the top deck of my Tarot 680 and I decided that I wanted to change the way my GPS compass folded. It folded down from front to rear and I changed it 90 degrees so it folded down from left to right. I took...

    T 18 - but not?

The motors still appear level even though the arms step up. The only reason they do this is to get the props out of the cameras view. Or at least that's how I understand it.

    I Don't Know Anything!!!!

Its not a federal offense, I don't know where he got that from. 3 pounds? That's not a lot but it will take a little larger MR than a phantom, you may be able to do it with a 550 hex but something even larger would do it for sure.

Purchased a few parts in a hurry, need some advice

Yes that's typically how it works if you need too power your FC. Not sure about the active braking.

Need Help Learning about Professional Opportunities (USA)

It depends on how you like to study and learn. There are a few books out there that have been mentioned in the part 107 discussion thread that can be used for test study. I signed up with one of the online self study courses that help you prepare and I passed the test easily. You must study the...

Show what you filmed - Post Your Video Here

Our annual trip to the Sonoma coast in California. I was only able to get my multirotor up twice so I didn't have a lot of footage to work with.

New Product Leaked Photos and.. of Inspire 2 to be released today

True but I think the Mavic is marketed to a different type of user. I think its more of an entry level drone or for someone that just wants to fly and record video and not get too hung up on all of the technical details. Casual use like you said. The price is indeed a little steep though. Go pro...

New Product Leaked Photos and.. of Inspire 2 to be released today

A lot of people like to hate on DJI but they really are a good company putting out good products. I just watched the promo video on the Inspire 2 and its got some great features for aerial filming. It may not be perfectly suited for industrial or agricultural inspections but for filming its a...

    F550 Battery mounting

What is the transmitter power output? Just off the top of my head I would get a small 1000mw 3s. It doesn't need a high C rating either. It will run the xmtr for a while unless you go out and fly all day. Once you use it a few times you will get a feel for if you need a bigger one or not. The...

Discussion Need briefing on new rules

In another post Old man mentioned that the FA number is sufficient, Heres what he wrote "The aircraft registration process under both sections 47 and 48 are legal for commercial work. So that fast and easy hobby registration you did for all your models does not have to be changed". So I guess I...

    Winter/High altitude filming

I have always thought if I had to do it I would put the lipo in some sort of insulated bag with a couple of those hand warmer packets in with it. I would start with a battery that was in a warm environment to begin with. I think for a short flight it wouldn't be a big deal, I would think the...
