    Keep that lens secure ....

...but who flies a 24-105 on a multi or rc heli? 18-55 yes, 10-22 yes but it seams an odd-ball size to fly rc. I've used one hanging out the door of a C172 but I prefer my 18-200 :D One unhappy photographer I am guessing... Pete

    DX8 rudder channel problem

How old is your DX8? I heard that a high percentage (10-15%) of the early ones needed servicing within weeks of being bought! That came from my local shop! Pete I just watched the other youtube videos that automatically display after your one played. Lots of them having problems...

    Droidworx new website

I dont want to sound bitter here - it was just a bit of fun :) I found the guidelines a little ambiguous whether non model photographs were eligible. We had to send a photo of the flying machine in the entry as well so they knew how it was taken. Most were from models, several from balloons...

    Droidworx new website

The competiton result is out... and I didn't win. Not only that, no model flier won. It was won by a balloonist! Oh well, I guess I will need to buy my DW frame... http://www.droidworx.co.nz/stills.html Photo#22

    Pete's new Tricopter Fleet

Thanks :) I actually broke one of the u/c stalks on a light pole while recording the Blokarts! Lots of fun. I use the tricopter to keep my flying fingers working rather than flying the AP heli. They fly very similar. Pete

    Pete's new Tricopter Fleet

Here are a couple of videos of my usual tri. The first has on-board and from the ground footage at indoor flying :). I have over 10 hour of flight-time on my Tri and it goes on holiday with me these days...;) Pete

    Pete's new Tricopter Fleet

I have been flying tri's (and lately Hexs) for nearly a year. They have caught the attention of some of the club fliers so this week we are having a tricopter workshop with 3 almost identical machines that I have built. Motors are Rctimer 2836 750Kv 70 gram beasts. HK SS 20A ESCs 1.5mm...

Much like a friend who has a private pilots licence. He isn't allowed to be paid as a pilot but his passengers regularly pay for all his fuel... Pete

Pete's diy Big Hex Mk2 build blog

I broke it After 2:30 of flying with the CC board and fitting an altimeter this morning, I broke it for the first time :( At a 200' hover above my park, Motor 4 (south-west) started spluttering / lost power and down she came sideways really quickly. I reduced power and with lots of...

Or you forgetting to connect the other battery... thanks for not mentioning me forgetting the whole rx, then the lack of binding... but I'm glad you eventually found your keys safely in your bag... ;)

Just focus your attention on the aerial scenes

Awesome stuff. Where was my invite??? What video camera did you fly? Not many small cameras work that well in the dark... Pete

    Working out the addiction

My wife and I have our money + a monthly pocket money for me and her to spend on what ever we like... This got a little clouded once we started a photography business but I have shown incredible self-control over not exploiting this too much ;)

    Working out the addiction

Welcome :) I understand your addiction. I have 25 years of rc planes, 6 years of helis (started with a Honeybee, I've now been doing part-commercial AP for 5 years) and I've been swearing at multis for 10 months. As a diy'r, I like to build all my own stuff in my spare time... not good when...

    Would you use this Lipo?

The remaining charge discharges into the salty water. It also nuetralizes the lipo chemical composition so it is safe to dispose it in house-hold rubbish. Thankfully after 6 years of lipos I have only done this to five packs. Not bad since I fly daily!

    Would you use this Lipo?

Easy - Remove the connectors and drop into a container of salty water outside... and ignore for a week. Step 2 - drop in bin In case you are not sure how to dispose of it... :) Pete

Foxtech Hexacopter frame - anyone got a hands-on review?

Thanks Kilby - exactly the feedback I needed to hear... sort of  The Hex Foxtech are selling is version viii! Less nylon, thicker paint. I have a request from a local for a hex - but not for camera machine, just something different to fly on his farm. At that price I'll still...

Foxtech Hexacopter frame - anyone got a hands-on review?

I'm a diyer and I'm building / flying / redesigning my 900mm carbon and aluminium hexacopter. I'm looking at a cheap spare frame. Has anyone got experience with this frame: http://www.foxtechfpv.com/foldable-hexacopter-carbon-fiber-rod-frame-viii-p-288.html I want to run 70g motors on...

    Keeping the competition at bay.

Great reply guys. Like many of you, I wish I had a $1 for every person that told me "AP is easy" but they haven't done any... I flew my new hex indoors at a promo event last Saturday. It looked awesome - perfectly steady and smooth. One by-stander commented to me that it must make...
