    Hoverfly Video thread

Great video Paul, nicely done. Looks like you've got that setup working well. The frame I used above to land in the water was called an AquaCopter. You can get them here: http://www.aquacopters.com When I got mine it was $99 and the demand hadn't started yet, now I think there's a huge wait...

A little FPV flight over a river with a few little camera dunks thrown in :) Gotta love the waterproof GoPro case!

    Hoverfly Gimbal For Aerovideo's Homebrew?

WOAH, I can't believe you flew in that kind of wind. Looked like it was blowing pretty hard, still some good results. Looks like your original design may have been best after all :) I haven't been around here much as I only have time for about 1 project at a time and that lately has been my...

Hoverfly Sometimes Sport Board Won't Arm

hmmm...well I plopped in another sport board that I have and it fixed the problem as well. to be honest I really don't want to install the old setup client. I wish HF would just update the sport board all ready.

Hoverfly A flight nightmare with a happy ending ...

Wow, I would have soiled my shorts literally! If that was LOS flying you sir have fantastic eyes. If that was FPV flight you then have an amazing sense of balance as I would have lost my stomach watching that with goggles on. Nice job keeping your cool and holding out till it stopped spinning...

Hoverfly Sometimes Sport Board Won't Arm

Hmmm good thought. I wonder if the old firmware on the sport board supports the endpoint adjustments? I don't know if I want to install an old setup client to find out... hehe Thanks though, I'll check into that.

Guess I need to submit a ticket for this one :)

    Hoverfly Gimbal For Aerovideo's Homebrew?

Nicely done, I can't believe you fly through some of the spots you do. That was REALLY smooth, I liked it!

Hoverfly Testing the HoverflyPro with no Rudder control interesting Ehh...

jfro, If your battery alarm is like mine it plugs into the balance port on the battery and always use the ground as the starting point. So your 3s battery probably has one ground and 3 positive leads. Make sure the ground lead matches up with your alarm and you'll be set.

Hoverfly Testing the HoverflyPro with no Rudder control interesting Ehh...

That's really weird, glad you got it working. I have to admit I've never messed with the throttle endpoints in the setup program. I just plug the ESCs directly into the Rx and do it there. Hmmm... now I wonder if I'm missing something :)

Hoverfly PRO/GPS Firmware Update v4.8 Beta

So I didn't change anything but my location and I did some more testing. This time in my usual wide open, flat, weed field. There was a slight breeze but it was pretty calm over all. First I tested AH, it worked reasonably well. Best when you get it into a stable hover first. Next I tested PH...

    Hoverfly OSD question

If you have the Black HFPro board there is no longer a need to worry as the OSD ports are just a pass through and don't connect to the onboard power. If you have a green board then you want to only connect the ground and signal to the board and run the power separately. If you happen to have a...

Hoverfly PRO/GPS Firmware Update v4.8 Beta

Doesn't the MK have a 250m limit on GPS waypoint functions because of regulations? Here's a thought on my long range RTH test. Is there a max distance in the HF code for GPS functions that I exceeded? Just thinking out loud...

Hoverfly PRO/GPS Firmware Update v4.8 Beta

Thanks for the idea as it's a good one but when I plug in the flight battery everything is powered including FPV gear and you are correct I didn't change or unplug the battery between flights. I just wasn't wearing the goggles in the first part of the video. My thoughts on my RTH problems: 1)...

Hoverfly Sometimes Sport Board Won't Arm

I've got a quad that has a sport board in it. A couple of times now when I try to arm it, the board does the first beep then starts flashing purple. I looked in the manual but didn't see what kind of error this could be. I replaced it with another sport board and it's worked perfectly. Anyone...

Hoverfly PRO/GPS Firmware Update v4.8 Beta

Not sure if the Barometer is directly linked to any GPS functions or not. I don't believe so, except maybe when trying to hold altitude. I do have a piece of Yellow foam stuffed between the HFPro and the GPS maybe I need to find some black foam. However, the Altitude hold was the least of my...

Hoverfly PRO/GPS Firmware Update v4.8 Beta

So I got a chance to try the new firmware this weekend. It was a mixed bag for me, probably something wrong with my setup but I had almost conflicting results. First off I tested altitude hold which didn't work very well but this board only passes the altitude hold diagnostic test about 1 in 5...

    Hoverfly Prop Stop

First off, sorry for your crash. I know first hand how frustrating that can be. I hope this doesn't sound too basic or insulting but... Did you calibrate the throttle range with your ESCs and Control Radio? (without props) Set the radio to full throttle, plug in the flight battery, hear the two...

Hoverfly PRO/GPS Firmware Update v4.8 Beta

I'm going to load the new firmware tomorrow and hopefully do a bunch of flying and testing. I look forward to trying out the GPS features! Hopefully it goes well as I have an opportunity to do some filming next week, we'll see how that goes :)
