KDE Direct XF UAS ESC and Flight Controller Compatibility List

Well I spoke too soon. Today I tested again and performed Compassmot calibration. It's doing it again. I looked at the end points in MP and they are 1100/1900. The radio is set for 1520 mid throttle. Could there be a throttle setting in MP that's contributing to this? I'm definitely not...

KDE Direct XF UAS ESC and Flight Controller Compatibility List

Well by Joe that fixed the problem. How amazingly simple. Thanks Patrick. Now we'll get things finished up and see what happens with props on. I did notice now after exercising the throttle full up and down a few times the motors will spin up and stay there after moving the throttle back...

KDE Direct XF UAS ESC and Flight Controller Compatibility List

Well thanks Rob, so far you're the only one who has replied out of 4 threads I've posted. Each ESC/motor works fine separately, but once all wired, that one motor will slow down and stop spinning. I should have known better than to do all that soldering only to have this happen. I made a...

KDE Direct XF UAS ESC and Flight Controller Compatibility List

The only OPTO ESC I've had good results with on a Pixhawk is HobbyWing. Right now I'm currently having problems using KDE ESC's on a CUAV Pixhack (no, not a cheap Chinese Pixhawk knockoff). First, the PM is powering 5v to the FC and there is a HW UBEC 5v on the rail. The copter arms. Three...

    T-Motor MN3110 470kv thrust rating

Very simply, T-Motor rates their MN3110 470kv motor as 460g thrust @50% throttle using TM 15x5 props and 4s power. If I chose these motors, TM's specs tell me I should stay around 2kg AUW to be ~50% throttle @hover with that configuration. Yet eCalc estimates are completely disconnected from...

KDE Direct XF UAS ESC and Flight Controller Compatibility List

I use HobbyWing XRotor on the Spy 750 Y6 with KDE 2814XF-515 motors; work great. A quad with same motors uses HobbyWing Quattro 4-in1 ESC and that works well too. I think you'll find at least some Tiger ESC's are rebranded HobbyWings.

    Mikrokopter Mikrocopters for Dummies

No, I plan on transplanting existing electronics from my Spy 750 which IMO is a poor design and hardly worth the $500+ for it and is heavy. Sexy yes. Overrated? I think so. Their advertised empty frame weight is off by about 300g. For starters, when loosening the nuts to fold the arms in, it...

    Steeper pitch props?/Tarot 650

Motopreserve is right; 6s would toast your motors. I think you have it right. Just enjoy your build that works and you like it. There's can always be another project on the books for another build :)

    Mikrokopter Mikrocopters for Dummies

I couldn't find the book, so came here. Is it my imagination or are these frames very light in their basic form? I want a light, strong frame. I'm looking at building a hexa flat and need some guidance on how these Mikrocopters are assembled. The "kit" I found appeared to only include the...

    Steeper pitch props?/Tarot 650

Those look like Tarot props. If so, and the thrust is >400-500g, they flex. Not just the tips, but the entire length of the prop. This leads to oscillation, vibration and poor performance. They are weak. I tried using them on a 3.2kg Spy 750 Y6 and they didn't work well. There's a reason why...

ECalc coaxial efficiency and prop choice

Read ECalc's essay on coaxial efficiency and how it can improve. http://www.ecalc.ch/calcinclude/help/xcoptercalchelp.htm#hints I have 3 Y6's. Not one of them react the same when choosing props. Variables such as frame size, axial distance between props, motors etc. make prop choice a crap...

    Beholder Valkyrie 650 X8 build

Well, I can see why this thing isn't very popular. It's light, and when the top/bottom plates and arms are secured, structurally it's pretty darn stiff. That's the good part. It's supposedly a folding frame. NOT! At first I thought the guy I bought it from assembled it wrong, but it turns out...

    Beholder Valkyrie 650 X8 build

This will be my third co-axial, the first X8. The frame was bought second hand for a low price, assembled but unused and only missing one screw! Having a Spy 750 Y6, I wanted a light weight X8. It seems like a strong frame, somewhat more than the Tarot I had, but there really isn't any...
