Just focus your attention on the aerial scenes

I agree - great use of aerial shots to "lift" the whole production - arff! arff! No chance of me getting bored here - I'm a red-blooded male! "All aerial" videos can get boring!

    Wookong-M on a RC-Carbon 900 mm boom

I like that idea of the copper washer. I guess you could find such a thing at a plumbing store, but I see also that Misumi does them in any size/thickness you want (love that place!). Interestingly, to get the 6mm^2 you'd need, the washer can be amazingly small: 4mm ID, 10mm OD and 1mm thick...

    Wookong-M on a RC-Carbon 900 mm boom

:)Well, I'd certainly lose the Deans connectors - they really should not be needed. If your feed from the battery is the right size (say 10AWG or 6mm^2), then your ring doesn't need to be any thicker than that. You can get standard household electrical installation wire in 6mm^2 and 10mm^2 (here...

    Wookong-M on a RC-Carbon 900 mm boom

Did you weigh "The Ring"? To me it looks like it will be h-e-a-v-y! You could save almost all of that weight by some creative soldering. This is a 1-to-4 splitter I made as an example, but 1-to-6 would be just as easy. Note that the pos/neg runs are twisted - helps keep EMI down, apparently...

    Wookong-M first flight

15 minutes appears to be exactly right for a complete, starting-from-nothing acquisition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_to_first_fix But as you say, they must surely be storing sat positions to make subsequent start-ups quicker!

    Would you use this Lipo?

Personally - no! Looks like the bag is punctured - that's a ticking time-bomb IMO ;)

And my knees go weak again - the new Droidworx airframe

You don't ;) - 'cos even if you used a big enough cable, there's no connector that would take it. At that level, I guess you have to split the battery packs - say 2 ESCs from each "sub-pack". I guess you could install a big-*** copper bus-bar (like there is inside a domestic fuse box), feed each...

    Camera suggestions

I'd agree that a dedicated video camera is likely to give better results. Interestingly, since a camcorder is likely to be lighter than a DSLR, it will be more difficult to isolate it from vibration. Good idea seems to be to strap your batteries to the mount to supplement its mass - whatever...

DJI Flight Controller - pricey but impressive

Looks like an interesting product, even if the manual is written in Chinglish. But at that price I wouldn't call it a game changer. Looking at the configuration options laid out in the manual, the controller seems highly dedicated to stable, leisurely flight - i.e good for AP but no...

Glad to see Droidworx is still providing full and clear instructions with everything they ship ;)

And my knees go weak again - the new Droidworx airframe

Ask Mr Plettenberg if he can build a contra-rotating motor pair  (like these Himax units)

And my knees go weak again - the new Droidworx airframe

Yep - looks nice. But I have to say that I'm utterly lost in the Droidworx model range now - so many variations! What's the difference between this and the Cinema Series? I'm confused! Also a little disappointed to see Droidworx getting into the patent-grabbing game. For a company that has...

    5DM2 Lens Suggestions

I can certainly recommend the 17TSE for real estate work - it's what I use all the time (on a 1Ds) and it rocks! Negligible distortion, super-sharp, etc. but, most of all, a great improvement to viewpoints (mostly using it to get "more floor, less ceiling"). I rarely have used the tilt facility...

1001copters.com [benchmark] motor and propeller test

The other difference between a 3-bladed and a 2-bladed prop will be the frequency of the vibration produced - the 3-blade will produce a higher frequency vibration - effectively easier to isolate.
