    Increasing throttle causes proportional yaw?

I don't know much about the Naza, but could it be some kind of magnetometer problem? Interference or badly calibrated?

    Increasing throttle causes proportional yaw?

Yeah, any chance you have some Revo mix going on in your Tx?

Need thermal pads for Maytech 65A ESCs.

I got that heat sink pack from HK too. It even comes with the thermal pad.

    yge esc freewheeling - experience?

Turnigy Superbrain ESC. I'm using the 100A unit. 12S rated for $90 and comes with really good datalogging. Pretty good value, IMO. The soft start isn't as soft as I'd like, and governor isn't great. But it works well enough for the price. I mean, the governor works, but it creates a tiny...

    yge esc freewheeling - experience?

Yes, I think that "helicopters escs" have filtering. I read somewhere the Superbrain (which I'm using on my heli) does straight 100hz filtering, regardless of how fast you are pushing the signal. (Most ESC's filter 8 samples, not fixed time). Kind of a bummer because I wanted to use it with...

    Increasing throttle causes proportional yaw?

Yeah, it sounds like one of your motors is at an angle, so it's creating yaw thrust. I'm surprised the Naza can't compensate, however, unless it's really bad.

    yge esc freewheeling - experience?

I'd like to know what exactly this means, "freewheeling". I've heard the term, but haven't seen an explanation what it does. I have heard heli guys complain that it tears up the one-way bearing.

Looks like much of his stuff is based on the Vario? I have to say, interesting stuff, but the website isn't very good.

    Multi-copter crashes into skyscraper video

+2 I agree, I think we could all learn something if the pilot was brave enough to speak up. I rejected all the arm-chair quarterbacking as soon as it started... as it always does. Anybody who says "Well this could never happen to me because...." well it reminds me of the saying: "There are...

    Multi-copter crashes into skyscraper video

Well... actually the instinct to slam down your copter as soon as something goes wrong is not the best thing to do. I've been trying to work that out of my system, and having more successful test flights because of it. There's this feeling that being on the ground is "safe", so you stick close...

    Multi-copter crashes into skyscraper video

I think the problem is, that people are not leaving enough excess power to allow an Octo to remain airborn. Sure, it's a great idea to have 8 motors for redundancy. But fact is, you load it down with 10-20lbs of payload and your hover point is 70% throttle or more, if you lose a motor it...

    Motor wire lengths question?

Twisting is probably better than braiding.

    Multi-copter crashes into skyscraper video

I assumed it was the camera operator with the goggles, and it was the pilot who was viewing in the 3rd person. Maybe he left it in simple mode and forgot, or vice-versa. I'm guilty of having a few flights that looked like that, but luckily no buildings around! :D

    Multi-copter crashes into skyscraper video

While it's obvious that there are some questions surrounding the operation and security, I think that judgement of the guy's skill or experience are premature until we know what actually caused the failure. I thought the spiralling climb was part of the planned flight profile and not an...

    Overlapping Propeller Designs

No payload yet. I don't really have a solid plan for AUW. I have planned for at least 1kg however, representing small P&S and a solid gimbal that doesn't vibrate and buzz like most do. I flew it last night in some light but turbulent winds and it went OK. I had to dial back the PID's more...

    S800 alternative props

I was mostly wondering what the "TDR" acronym was. But since you went into detail, interesting stuff. 260 is very, very high. I didn't even know that was possible? I've got my 600 up to 110, but that's all she'll do with only 8° of pitch and 1700 rpm head speed. More than enough for me in...

    LCD TV Support tripod

Yes, that is exactly what the Foxtech does. It will go all the way to snow. So the test is, if you get to black screen, but then get a marginal signal back, will it show the picture again, or will it stick on black screen until a strong signal comes? That is the question.
