Alternatives to metal screws and nuts.

are you doing this for weight or for mag interference concerns?

    max range (height for 2.4ghz)

I was always told my typical 2.4 radio is safe for about 2500'. With any given claimed distance at least cut it in half. Ever seen a motorola talk about actually go 22 miles? No! They go maybe a mile line of sight. I feel if you're going over 2000' you should be on UHF anyways.

    Complete Newb, question about drift

With zero wind it should stay in place. Not all controllers allow you to trim with you transmitter. Assuming your flight controller is totally level it should hover pretty level. It may very slightly stuff without GPS so that's normal. But it should take a while for it to slide from its original...

Does someone make a fixed 1/4-20 camera mount?

My batwing would work on the f 450/550. Never tried it on a phantom. I doubt it would fit right. Check out the products page on my irisaerial site.

    Wookong issue

Hey kloner, when you're done diagnosing this one, can you take some time to help me with some childhood issues I've been wanting to get off my chest? Mostly my travel issues that started when my dad beat me with a globe when I was 5.

    Phantom USB failure

For what it's worth I had a few bad pmu units on my nazas. The female connector ripped off the circuit board just from pulling the sub out gently. I always sand off the prongs on my USB connectors just for that reason as they are absolutely not needed to hold it in place securely.

Anyone tried an X8 as a dual quad?

Pretty sure it's been done and works fine. Thats kinda how the X12 works, I think. It's in hex mode but has 12 motors. They counter rotate. Why would you do this over having 8 motor outputs other than the extra few wires? The X12 only does this because controllers are currently limited to 8...

    Jims Droidworx y6 build

I kept the xy8 and Y6 just for the occasional project. I havent left yet. But certainly not promoting myself in anyway what so ever.

    Mobius cam

It's brilliantly simple thats for sure. I wonder if the lightweightness of it will make it vibrate though.

Now We're talking! Carbon Fiber 3D printer

That is the next level for sure. I might have to get one. I bet for the cost of my injection molding I could buy a printer and do it in 50x the time :)

    Jims Droidworx y6 build

The Y6 rules! For light camera applications I think its the most enjoyable to fly as a single operator unit. So easy to tell where it's at in the air and you never see props in your pic, good redundancy, good in wind. You only really have 1 downside and thats slightly less flight times but...

    Pro's & Con's of 3S vs 4S Batteries

you might be better off ordering 4000's as you will not only have the option to run 1 4000 but you have some sort of redundancy with your lipos if one should fail mid flight.

    Pro's & Con's of 3S vs 4S Batteries

One thing to keep on mind is that it is much harder to tune 3s/10" props to keep jello out of the gopro. I found on almost all my small quad builds that the frequency the motors needed to spin to hover was just right in that area that showed the worst jello. Spinning a smaller prop faster...

Kloner, with all due respect, you gotta be kidding right? The puck is big, no doubt, but making it unstable? I trust you though, if you say so.......
