    My Newb Okto2 Build Thread

I've attached the LiPo holder but I'm curious to know if the weight imbalance due to the size of the 28c LiPo will cause too much strain on the motors to keep the kopter balanced. As you can see, the battery has some considerable overhang.

AAACCHHH! I have to take it all apart to attach the Lipo holder to the bottom centrepiece. Would have been nice to know that in the beginning. Oh well. Oh, maybe I don't...

    My Newb Okto2 Build Thread

Could someone tell me whether the wires from the front (red) motor are soldered into #1 or #2 in this pic? I have my wires coming out of the frame in a clockwise direction viewing from above which would have the red outrigger motor in #2 if it were to look like the pic. I guess my main question...

When soldering the motor wires to the board the instructions state that: "Connection of motor wires to the BL-Ctrls - CAUTION: Motor 1 and 2 have to be in front! The order is as follows: connect A = gray, B = blue, C = black on odd motor addresses (1,3,5,7) clockwise rotation connect A =...

I didn't add the angle adaptors when I mounted the motors. It wasn't mentioned in Reece2's guide. Are they necessary?

    Lumix GF2

I have a GH2 and with battery, card, and 20mm pancake lens it weighs only 544g and I think the GF2 is even lighter!

    Time for a poll!

I wouldn't bother adding video hosting. It's a pain and it will certainly increase your hosting costs. My 2 cents.

Thanks, ovdt! but I cheated and had the board pre-soldered :D because...well, frankly, I was afraid of messing it up. btw that google site guide is a great addition to the official MK instructions. I'm finding it much easier to figure out what's going on using both instead of just one. The...

Bartman! I read your thread after I ran the wires...oh well. I sure don't want to take 'em all out. I did use some adhesive on the motor screws but not on the center plate. Should I take them out and use adhesive? They feel very tight. Here is where I'm at now...I'M GOING TO STOP FOR THE DAY...

Trying to attach the motors to the outriggers has been crazy frustrating. Probably because I don't have a magnetic screwdriver. It seems absolutely essential to have one so back to the store I go. Does anyone here use heat shrink tubing? Any tips?

Charging LiPo's with cigarette lighter sockets...possible?

What do you use for this? Did you hack together a PC power supply charger? I've seen some videos on youtube with this being done. I am asking this because I (being completely green) assumed that my charger would be able the plug in to AC current.

Charging LiPo's with cigarette lighter sockets...possible?

I have the charger/balancer. It is an EOS 0730i NET3 by Hyperion. It can be hooked up to the car battery but I'm wondering if there is something that will go in the cigarette lighter that I can plug the DC leads of the charger into or if I can connect the leads to the mentioned jumpstart battery...

Charging LiPo's with cigarette lighter sockets...possible?

I'm quickly learning that the science of charging LiPo's isn't as simple as I had first thought. I'm wondering if there is an adaptor available that can allow you to plug your charger into the cigarette lighter and get the 12V that way. I'm also wondering if one could use those rechargeable...

Mikrokopter Sim that supports MKs and FPV

No love for the Mac? MKTool is PC only as well....I guess I'll have to run Bootcamp. As far as a sim goes, I think I'm going to skip it. I'll just take it very easy until I feel competent enough to really soar. What's the price on AeroSim, Buzzed? I couldn't find it on their site.
