Better leave it in the box for its own protection. The Phono connectors which have been removed helped to keep everything in place so, although the HDMI connector pretty much locks the board in place, I have used a piece of sponge inside each one to prevent anything rattling around.

I'm running mine the same way from an Iftron Stinger Tx using the built-in 5v camera supply. You can see it in the second photo above. It's okay so far but again, bad weather is really limiting flight opportunities at the moment.
