As I understand, only the T-motor esc's will work with those motors. Many have had the same issues. Maybe someone with your motors will chime in.

Are you referring to the connections to the SuperX? If so, only had to remove + FC connections and tie them together, because when I purchased them the quad pack came with 3 with no bec's and one with. Castle since changed where can purchase singles with or without bec's. The way they do it...

I know I'm beating a dead horse, but I've had no issues with the Castle 25's and the KDE 515's and I did'nt have to change any endpoints (-100 to +100) to calibrate with the Taranis or the SuperX. Done extensive testing with IR thermo , and they never run more then 10 degrees f more then ambient...

Protune off, auto low light off, no post prosessing other then cropping. Ran out of time to test but want to try 2.7k at 48fps, probably what I'll use mostly. 4k is alot of bandwith even with a I7 quad core mac. So far happy going from the 3+, think there will be more improvement after I play...

Have the 3+, was lucky it didn't have the focus issue. Yes the 499 version, 4 silver is almost identical to the 3+ with the addition of the lcd touch screen.

I followed Kloner's advice over 6 months ago, and very happy i did. No issues, doesn't fly away, rock solid gps, and also fantastic in manual mode. Logs are invaluable for tuning... Simply, it just works like it's supposed too!
