    Deans are killing my fingers!!!

Reading this thread has made me switch from deans to XT60 to EC5 connectors. I had to upgrade my quad because it was too heavy which meant upgrading motors, larger lipo and bigger props. Seeing as the lipo is 4s 5400mah 10AWG 35c I think the XT60's are borderline OK but EC5's would be a better...

    Lipo connectors

I have always hated deans connectors. I prefer the XT60's but mine are a bit tight to remove. That was the same for the deans connectors but atleast the Xt60's have more room to grip the plug and they are also easier to connect. It sounds a bit silly but with the deans connectors they simply...

    FPV camera options

Do you have a budget? I used to have the SN500 and WDR700 they were both good but pixim cameras are way better in my opinion. CCD cameras are better if you are flying at night but thats about it.

    Waterproof Mulitrotors with Liquipel?

I agree kloner, you dont need to put the whole multicopter in just the electronics will do and it would fit within a small space. I just dont want to be the guinea pig that tests it lol. It costs $89 to waterproof an ipad I cant see it costing anything more than that.

Which model of Fat Shark goggles are most appropriate for FPV?

As long as FPV continues to stay analogue HD goggles are pointless. Also they normally they tend to have a secondary unit that you have to carry. For example with headplay goggles you have to carry the "liberator" around which just reduces portability in my opinion.

Which model of Fat Shark goggles are most appropriate for FPV?

ALL OF THEM becuase they are all designed for FPV but the dominators are supposed to be the best.

Get rid of my DX7 for something potentially more reliable?

I hacked my DX7 so I can get a better PPM signal but I have read comments about it working fine just using the trainer port. It looks like you have already made your decision anyway, $250 looks like a good deal.

Get rid of my DX7 for something potentially more reliable?

For the price of a Futaba T8J rc tx and rx it would be cheaper to buy UHF rc system and attach it to your DX7. That way you get far further range and no longer rely on DSM2 tech.

    Mikrokopter 4s low voltage value

Is this the value you set it to yourself or is it the default alarm value?

    Mikrokopter 4s low voltage value

According to this: http://www.mikrokopter.de/ucwiki/en/LiPo its 3,3v so 13.2 on a 4s lipo is the voltage level the alarm will sound. Can anyone confirm this?

    Mikrokopter 4s low voltage value

I'm in the middle of setting up my eagletree OSD and I want to add a voltage alarm. What's a good voltage value that's low enough that I should start heading home? Also at what voltage level does the MK buzzer sound?

    Mikrokopter MK or DJI....

What RTRRyder said. MK have plenty of neat features but the effort to tune and setup the MK would be a huge turn off for many. I honestly think if I was in the situation of choosing MK or DJI electronics I would pick DJI just because it seems a lot more hassle free to setup (I own just MK...

    Multirotor on BBC Newsnight

It may be different where you live but FPV in the UK is already very restrictive as it is. It breaches CAA rules if you fly beyond LOS distance. The buddy box system no longer exists but the weight restrictions are tighter. Ready to fly FPV systems like the AR drone and spyhawk FPV system are...

    Multirotor on BBC Newsnight

For business purposes I agree with you but for hobbyists, no way. In the UK we basically already have that. If you want to use a UAV's for business purposes you need to be examined by the CAA and get a BNUC-S certification where the CAA also certify the aircraft. On top of that you must have...
