    X8 Build - First Timer

I have two screws on my X8' motors. He is right more would be better. I never worry because of the redundancy, which I have personally tested. My X8 will fly even when two props go out, however, not on the same mount. I use the M3 5MM.

    What just happened

Was this a Maiden Flight?..It sounds like one of your connections to the motor or esc was bad. I bet one of the motors quit and then the flip. I have the Ironman 650 and the iOSD Mini, along with the 2.4 ghz Datalink w/ BTU. I have flown numerous times with the Futaba radio (which has freq...

DJI F550 Spinning after take off and crash

Is your GPS Puck in the back and offset from the CG? If so, the x axis should be a negative number. does look like your motor maybe spinning in a wrong direction. causing the yaw.

Can't get out of vertical compass calibration

Actually I have the Tarot 2d 2 axis gimbal...sorry..uses the F2 input, but now I turned my Quad copter into a X8 Octocopter so F1 and F2 are now M7 and M8 motors. Now I have pitch control from Channel 8 of my receiver. The Gimbal has it's own Control board. So Now the Naza doesn't control my...

Can't get out of vertical compass calibration

DJI I read that also! ha ha like they don't want any returns or complaints. I really like their products, however, I've had some bad experiences with their "slow" responses also.

Can't get out of vertical compass calibration

Is The GPS puck pointed forward...and did you put the right xyz axis on the assistant? If your puck is on a stick then it's a negative number in cm. If it's in the back of the craft it's a negative number also. You probably know all of that. For some reason the FC won't recognize one of the...

Can't get out of vertical compass calibration

the pmu does NOT have to be facing forward. It can be arranged in any direction. Do you have a cellphone near the GPS Compass or on you when you are calibrating? Magnets screw up the calibration. You can take a magnet and on your GPS Puck. Run the magnet across the puck any also up and down...

First quad, first build, need help

The motors should NOT be tight like that. Brushless motors should spin freely. If you have to move them about to get them to spin freely. I think you have bad motors. What kind are they? If it was my "build." I would buy different motors. Look for quality ones like Sunnysky Brand. Which I use...

    Does Naza need BEC?

    Great glad everything is working.

    Does Naza need BEC?

I bet the red wire is needed for those ESC's. Maybe they were mislabeled. Many people use the red wire with the naza. It's not proven that it is bad. I think it's a personal taste. Even if just one esc is bad the rest of the esc's should calibrate using the hub, don't you think?

    Does Naza need BEC?

Did you purchase all of these ESC's together? or Individually? It seems strange that all but one says "no BEC." If calibrating them individually works I would do that. You calibrate the throttle limits exactly like I do . You probably have not attached your receiver to the build yet (explains...

    Does Naza need BEC?

how are you powering the motors and esc with the flight battery? or another bec? (when you calibrated all four at once) So I assume you have power to the receiver and power to the motor and esc connected together. If connecting the red wire to the receiver that has power indicates there was no...

Connecting servo wires to FC and Receiver

yes that picture is confusing. The pic on the right is upside down...If you note it says the pin near the tab is the signal one. Futaba servo connectors have a little tab on the edge and that is where the signal wire is next to. On the FC the tab goes on the bottom. My Naza M v2 I have the...

First quad, first build, need help

I know you have the kk2 board and alot of people do calibrate through it. If it hasn't worked you might as well try. If it doesn't work then I suspect either the esc or the motor is bad. this link may help if you did calibrate with the FC http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1770594

First quad, first build, need help

yes, because you want the radio to set the throttle , the FC just regulates the wanted power output to each motor for yaw , pitch acceleration, etc. You should always calibrate the throttle limits through the receiver only. Then your motors will all spool together when the radio gives the...

First quad, first build, need help

I saw your video If you look real close the front left motor (CCW, as the quad is facing you) seems to start late compared to the other three motors. Did you throttle calibrate your ESC's through your radio's receiver? (don't hook it up to the FC, but hook each esc directly to channel three of...
