Hoverfly HF PRO, Where are we at?

Hi Wayne :) I too have an unused HFP blackboard and GPS board (and Antenna) in a box marked "Lessons learned". Unfortunately the box has no lid, but for now the Hoverfly keeps company with my early aero-quad experiments, while my DJI Naza and Wook keep my TBS Disco Pro and Droidworx X4 in the...

$65K drone crashed: why you should never touch your copter while it is airborne :)

If I could guarantee "Land and Motors off" I would be happy - unfortunately I only have one "setting" for coms failure... PLUMMET! c

$65K drone crashed: why you should never touch your copter while it is airborne :)

This incident kinda ties into a dilemma that has been nagging at me since I started. Is RTH the most appropriate "Fail Safe" response from a TX - FC system?? Given the number of GPS related fly-away/screw-ups and general advise to NOT fly in GPS mode, it seems a bit nonsensical to rely on this...

Thanks For All Your Support - Have I Forgotten Anything??

+1 for the Anderson power-poles (if you go down this path, get the crimper to suit) :) I would also suggest that the lite version of the Naza is a bit of a dead-end. I understand the price difference, but the full Naza (v2) will let you grow with all sorts of future add-ons. As Pete says "don't...

Anyone Upgrade From Quad to Hex and Transferring the Parts?

I've met you out at the Charney oval. :) Mostly though I fly away from people and houses. But was that you flying FPV at the arboretum this morning ? c

Anyone Upgrade From Quad to Hex and Transferring the Parts?

Yep, I'll pay that. I guess I associate more motors with wanting to fly more weight :) c

Anyone Upgrade From Quad to Hex and Transferring the Parts?

Hehe I went full circle. DJI 450 quad > DJI 550 hex > TBS Disco Pro quad. ESCs, receiver and the Naza are about the only original things left on the Disco now but all motors, Naza, ESCs, LEDS and receiver made the round trip initially. And you are right, the DJI opto ESCs are a bit too small...

Wookong M GPS Mode - Fair Warning

Man, I am so sorry to hear of your loss - very un-cool! Can I ask if you were using any of the "Intelligent" modes? I have seen similar things happen to an APM where it decided to switch modes (apparently) all on it's own when flying in IOC mode. C

Review DJI ZENMUSE Z15-BMPCC for Black Magic Pocket Camera - 1UAS.com

Thanks for the video and shots of the box contents. I confess to being a bit disappointed that this was not really a "review", that maybe putting a BMPCC on it and powering it up might have been more interesting :) Then of course you might have mounted it on a copter of some sort and flown it...

Naza M V2 Start Up and Throttle Problem

I'd like to hear from someone using those 70A ESC too. They sound really big (your motors are rated at 50A max) and I don't know what programming options are available for them… did they come with a programming card? By all means get it flying with the Naza, but I would want something smarter...

Naza M V2 Start Up and Throttle Problem

Maybe check orientation of there FC and triple check the numbers in the GPS antenna mounting config (watch for the negative numbers). Also maybe check motor numbering against the motor diagram in the manual- use the motor check option in the assistant WITHOUT props attached :) It's a bit late...

Naza M V2 Start Up and Throttle Problem

Hi Steve, I will apologise in advance for asking all sorts of basic/dumb questions :) In the assistant software, do the sticks move in the directions indicated? What mode are you flying? (In mode 2 my throttle and rudder are on the same stick). Have you calibrated the ESCs (those are some BIG...
