Aluminum arms for dji flamewheel frames

econfly, Thank you so much for taking the time and testing/reporting on the heavier flight. Looks like it flew fine, but 70% on hoover is a little steep for me. I'm assuming my weight will be similar to yours. It would be great to be able to fly both a light weight and medium weight gimbal...

Aluminum arms for dji flamewheel frames

Econfly, Great rig!. I have a very similar rig with the same aluminum arms, except my tiger motors are 900kv & 10" props. 12-15 mins flying and 20 without gimbal. I love the way it flies with both the f450 arms and the aluminum arms. I have been contemplating going to bigger / lower kv...

Would be interested in hearing what motors you put on your hex. All up weight, props, battery and flight time for slow flying.....

    Hoverfly Something Big?

Something Big? I was hoping for something big on the HFP board. Oh well....

    Hoverfly Something Big?

Using Rusty's Frame. UAP2. His 8" and 6" plates have a whole bunch of screw holes pre-drilled. I basically moved 2 arms over 2 holes on inside and 3 on outside and it was converted to 4 symmetrical arms. I temporarily (they are still attached) my legs to my arms. I had my batteries...

    Hoverfly Something Big?

I don't and didn't mean to bash HF. I was just commenting on the there Big News with no follow up announcement. As far as flying, I'm new and I'm just giving my personal take. For myself, if I (and I do) lose orientation on line of sight, it's a nice to be able to hit the gps switch and...

    Blackmagic Pocket Cinema

I have an old Canon Lanc controller. The only thing it controls is start and stop recording on the BMPC. Exposure, focus, zoom, etc, didn't work. FYI. By no means is this an endorsement or recommendation, but I just did a little 3 minute stress test on a target I've used on my hacked GH2's...

    Blackmagic Pocket Cinema

Updated this morning. Once started, it was over 15 minutes. Make sure you have a full battery! I didn't do a stress test, buy both my 95/mbs and 80/mbs 64GB cards worked...

    Hoverfly Something Big?

Webheadfred. I agree with the disappointment aspect of your post about something big coming and then no follow up. I now have my x8 with Xaircraft and a small quad with Naza V2/ GPS. Both with gps and flying is much more enjoyable. The first weekend I had my x8 reconfigured and flew with...

    2nd radio/receiver for camera & gimbal advice

If I'm going low end for camera ops only, how many channels would be prudent. I'd think 4-8 would be plenty. Right now I'd probably only use 3. Maybe 4-5 at some point in the future. I see Devo makes a cheap 7 channel system. That would probably be plenty???

Hoverfly What Makes Good Aerial Video

That doesn't seem to be released yet... I have this one on the way. http://www.polarprofilters.com/shop/frame-polarizer-glass-filter-hero3-gopro/ I had purchased their nd filter a while back and it was sitting on a shelf. Opened it up and gave it a try today. Didn't help the GoPro's...

Hoverfly What Makes Good Aerial Video

IMO, any good aerial filming/video/photography starts with framing, movement, smoothness and ends with proper exposure. That said, I'm finding I'm flying my little quad with gopro3 & gimbal a lot more. It's a great little setup provided there's not much wind. My problem is I can't stand the...

    Hoverfly Something BIG coming soon!

Tahoelight, I'm pretty much in 100% agreement with you, esp on your first paragraph. Love the HFP flying, be even better having a GPS/ATT mode for insurance , recovery or what ever you want to call it. It takes so much stress and injects so much more enjoyment to flying when you have a few $$...

XAircraft Getting ready for new Pro version

Flew today in ATT & GPS mode. Little wind, but not bad. Flew with 2 batteries, but haven't put the gimbal on, so still about 3lbs light. ore First flight the GPS took a minute or more to find the satellites. Subsequent times it was fast after just changing battery. Few hours later, minute...

XAircraft Getting ready for new Pro version

Redid firmware, redid calibrations. Still getting yellow light. Flew in crazy gusty winds in ATT mode. Flew -1 battery/ camera/ gimbal. Probably 4 lbs or so maybe about 8lbs. Hard to tell in these winds, but kept it under control. Couldn't tell much difference in the gains so will wait...

XAircraft Getting ready for new Pro version

Having some issues with GPS. Getting yellow led which says interference. Moved stuff around and led comes on pretty frequently. Thought I had it figured out. Buttoned it down, turned it on and off 1/2 dozen times, look good. Spent 40-50 minutes balance some props. Took it outside in some...
