    A2 IOC Weirdness

Everything seems fine now. A couple more flights with no trouble.

    A2 & Z15-5D Gimbal

OK, I think I would like to control my gimbal with my Futaba R7008SB RX. It takes 3-7 - 7.4 volts. Where can I get this on a 22-25V 6C system? I don't want to add another battery just for RX and I am not so keen on having a bunch of voltage lowering circuits (already one for LED's - 12VDC) as...

    A2 IOC Weirdness

Still testing my new build and all has been flawless until this afternoon. I have tried a bunch of fail safe return to homes and done a bit of flying in IOC mode too. Today I was playing around with IOC which I have to say I am not too familiar with. I was flying in a straight line away from...

    A2 & Z15-5D Gimbal

Hi Soler. Can you explain how you did this a little more as it might work well for my setup. I did not realize that you could bind a TX with more than one RX. I have the Futaba 14 channel with a receiver that I am currently not utilizing. I would love to put the Futaba RX right on the Gimbal...

Wow, great information. Thanks to all. I will try some larger mah batteries and see if I can get my time up. I am just relieved to hear that weight seems OK.

Now that I have added the second battery (that I actually do have) these calculations seem far too rosy. How accurate are they? According to this I can fly 6741G of additional weight. That just seems crazy...

    A2 & Z15-5D Gimbal

A little confused regarding hooking up my Z15-5D to my A2. Currently I am using the A2 onboard RX for my flight tests and all is well. Eventually I intend to move gimbal control to a separate TX but for now I just want to get it up and running with basic functionality with one TX. Gimbal...

OK, now I am confused again. What exactly is considered "drive" in ecalc? I don't have my frame/FC weight as the whole rig is assembled. I do know total weight. If I say "incl. drive" does that assume that I have accounted for all components myself? It doesn't seem to as it is putting 1864g...

Wow, that (obviously) makes a huge difference. It now says I am at 78% throttle at hover. Should I be comfortable with that number? My next big concern is flight time. How do I increase that number WITH this payload? More battery...?

Sorry, I don't know why it shrunk down like that. Here it is as a JPEG. Perhaps this will work better. This is what it said... Running below the Current of optimal Efficiency is inefficient. Use a smaller motor Your Setup is unrealistic and way out of Limits! My problem with ecalc is...

Oh, and one more question on the voltage protection. Is it wise to lower the voltage for first level protection (yellow light) or should I always leave that at factory defaults?

I have completed my first build and all is well but I just feel like there are so many gaps in my knowledge and I don't want to discover any of them the really hard way (crash). This is what I built: -CarbonCore H6 950mm -DJI A2 Flight Controller -Maytech Opto ESC 60amp - No BEC, Simon K...

    A2 Test Flight Problems

OK, I figured it out and just had my 1st (then 2nd, 3rd,...) successful indoor test flights. Turns out that I had my motors (ESC's) wired to the A2 in the wrong order. Boy, did I ever have a lot backwards (first build learning curve). I had assumed wrongly that the ESC's were wired clockwise...

    A2 Test Flight Problems

I will make a video this morning. Most of the gear came from RC-Drones. They are not open on the weekend or I would call them for advice as their builder seems very knowledgeable.

    A2 Test Flight Problems

I have 2 X 6C lipos. Eventually both will go on the back and Z15 gimbal on the front but for test I mounted 1 battery center back and 1 center front for balance. When I hold lightly by opposing arms it is balanced pretty well in every direction. I wonder if it is ground effect?
