Yet another Motor/Prop Question using 16" APC MR Props

I'm building another chopper using Mk gear and I want to make it better. I got my prop mounts just now, hopefully weather will be good. I can upgrade the recoms and go 6S on the new build.

Yet another Motor/Prop Question using 16" APC MR Props

No apologies needed. The more info folks have the better informed we all are. The 950 CarbonCore Hex with 16" MR APC props has almost 3" clearance tip-to-tip.

Yet another Motor/Prop Question using 16" APC MR Props

So here's what I got going. I'm flying a 950 CarbonCore Hex with MK3638 motors, 2 X 6500mah 4S, 3-axis gimbal, Blackmagic Pocket, MK stack/ESC's. Whole thing weighs around 10lbs. I have been flying the 16x5.5MR APC props for 4 months now. The MK ACC upgrade gave me a terrible yaw twitch that I'm...

    Mikrokopter Mk3638

Thread is a month old but why not? I swing the new APC 16x5.5MR props with my 3638's. Flies very nice. Total weight with Blackmagic Pocket/14mm lens, 3-axis, and 2x6500maH batts= 5000g. MK stack. I have barely enough room to swing the 18" props, might experiment with those.

    CarbonCore 3-axis Gimbal

I just received my BMPCC and I'm giving GHT gimbals a shot. I'm not a fan of the single side stuff either. You have to overbuild them to get the same effect as a standard supported gimbal. Why try re-inventing the wheel?

    CarbonCore 3-axis Gimbal

I just received an email in response to a question about the CarbonCore leg set and they sent me a couple pictures of a new 3-axis gimbal they are about to put live on their website. They look pretty dang neat. Anyone hear anything about this?

    Mikrokopter FC2.2 problem

Not that it matters much for some folks but metal screws holding boards on is generally not an accepted practice in the MK world. Food for thought.

    Mikrokopter MikroKopter Angle Adapters

I can see how that works. With thrust centerline on all motors at 90° the yaw motion of the chopper is completely reliant upon gyroscopic forces induced in biasing rotational speed of propellers. With a small angular change in thrust centerline you introduce thrust into the equation for yaw...

Wanted WTB: CarbonCore Landing Gear Set

Got a CC landing gear outfit? Probably not but if you do then I'm looking! Going to build my own if no can find.

APC New MR 16” Prop Test

APC stepped up and sent my missing adapter rings overnight FedEx so I got to test the new props today. These are the 16x5.5 MR props replacing the 14x4.7SF on my Carbon Core 950 framed MK. These props are quiet!!! Gone is the familiar droning sound replaced with a gentle fan sound. Like one of...

    Cutting Tomatoes

Had to do this. Left my knife in the car and I'm in a hotel. APC MR 16" prop is damn sharp.

    APC New MR Props WTF?

A little background. I'm away from home in a hotel and I didn't bring my extended parts stash. APC is sending the rings no cost this morning which was my expectation. I told them if I can make that mistake then others can too and they should just include them as a matter of course. These props...

    APC New MR Props WTF?

I need to vent a little. I ordered the new 16 inch APC props and after anxiously awaiting their arrival, I receive them and found that they do not include the adapter rings! I ordered them through my phone so I didn't see the part that said "not included". Now I have to wait another week for the...

    My brushless gimbal result

I got it worked out. Had to start over with 1.3 on another older laptop running Win7 x32. I upgraded to 2.04 using that laptop and now my x64 laptop is back up and running. I got the gimbal dialed in, now I need to find a nex5n to stick on it.

    My brushless gimbal result

I am having trouble with my controller board. I updated it to 2.0 and now it won't connect to "COM5". I reinstalled the FTDI driver and tried it several different ways. Nothing works. The controller is still working and I did get it to come up on GUI 1.3 once but now when I run the 1.3 GUI...

CarbonCore H950 Mikrokopter Graupner MX20 RTF with 4 batteries

Craigslist link was for an airplane. Oh well, he sold it. Chopper still up for grabs. I am building a gimbal out of 6061 aluminum and 5010 brushless motors right now. Chopper is getting more awesome every day and will very soon be making better video than anything at any price. I'm sizing the...

CarbonCore H950 Mikrokopter Graupner MX20 RTF with 4 batteries

All settings back to stock and it's a solid flyer. Bonus about crashing and breaking the arms is I repurposed them into landing gears! I used Mikrokopter aluminum tube frame material and welded them into brackets. Gear stands 7.5" clearance. Installed Cinestar-style but way WAY stronger than...

CarbonCore H950 Mikrokopter Graupner MX20 RTF with 4 batteries

Wife says I spend too much time/money on this so it's time to really actually part with it. I just finished the build a week ago and it flies very nice. Parts as follows: Graupner MX20 radio with GR24 receiver (transmitter has a 5.8ghz FPV rig attached to it including a 4" LCD screen) Carbon...

    Mikrokopter New MK Firmware, 0.90

Suppose I should have been more clear when I stated that I wished MK had WK-style POI. Watch a video of the WK POI, it's far more accurate and easier to use. You can program it by flipping a switch on your transmitter, backing off 5 meters, and the chopper will automatically lock to a POI. With...
