    XAircraft SuperX

Quad is about 500mm motor to motor, although it is not right in from of me right now. FC is mountain in the center. Triangle forward. Although it is lifted above the center plate about an inch so wires can come out if center plate and hooked to the control box and Rx. CG is balanced. Props...

    XAircraft SuperX

So, I have a very solid quad with the SuperX on it. I still can't get the twitches or wobbles out. Here is a video. This is in GPS mode and I am not touching the sticks at all. Overall it is holding position well, but definitely not flying on rails. Atti mode is very similar in flight...

    Thoughts on 12mm Booms

12mm? are you sure? I use 22mm on mine. Solid! I don't think they are too heavy. 2814 tiger motors. 12mm sounds awfully narrow. But I tend to overbuild as well. Even my little quad uses 22mm. I need to lengthen mine for my big gimbal as well. Those pesky legs that stick out. Retracts would...

    Mount dual camera question

You don't want to mount the fpv camera on the gimbal. You will not know what attitude your MR is in if it is being stabilized by the gimbal. That is why you use a second camera, not really for redundancy. You can use a switching device to toggle back and forth between the two cameras to check...

    2nd radio/receiver for camera & gimbal advice

I use an 8fg for flying and cam ops. Figure it is a good way to have a backup if one has issues. It is easily to find 8fg radios used in the $200 range and you will know already be familiar with the system.

    TBS Discovery Pro

Do not Buy RCTIMER carbon props. They WILL fail. Ask me how I know. The only prop to ever explode on lift off.

    Hoverfly Something BIG coming soon!

Bart, I am with you on this. I still fly two HFP boards. One on an Octa and one on an XY8 (still a green board). I've spent hours messing with the GPS to no avail. Even with the external mag. I am trying out the X right now. The GPS is amazing, but so far overall it does not compare in...

XAircraft Getting ready for new Pro version

I went ahead and made my xy quad into an X quad. It flies better, but still getting some twitching/wobbling. I tried with one pack today. I'll have to spend some more time tuning I guess. I may be looking for Hoverfly Pro smooth, that I might not get. GPS works very well so far.

XAircraft Getting ready for new Pro version

You should not have to change the values. Defualt on your 8FG would be manual up and GPS down. That is what mine is. To change this and have Manual Down and GPS up, then just reverse the channel. You inspired me to go ahead and change mine. Just live I have on my HFP. That is all you need...

XAircraft Getting ready for new Pro version

I just received my superx to try. Decided to convert an XY8 into an XY4 type quad. Result are not good so far. I can't get rid of an oscillation. Either gains are too low or too high but no stability. I'll have to make an quad x to try. The superX is very Naza like. I do like that the motors...

Hoverfly Twitchy HoverFly Pro XHex issue with Version 4.6 Firmware

This is an old thread. You are going to have to give us all of your configurations. Tell us what issues you are having and hopefully you are not running 4.6 firmware.

    XAircraft SuperX

ESC recommendations for SuperX I decided to give the basic Superx a try on a custom quad I have ready for it's install. I can't find any documentation on ESC requirements. I have some turnigy plush and Rctimer basic esc's around or is it suggested to use a SimonK loaded esc.

    Fpv/osd

If FPV uses something like Gopro for its "eyes", does the Gopro lose the ability to record? Or are you simply seeing the same thing that the gopro sees. Can FPV use a separate camera for its "eyes" to let the Gopro operate independently? Yes, probably a prefeed method is to use a second...

    Fpv/osd

Not sure if that last description was basic enough. FPV is first person view. FPV is not a physical thing, but requires special equipment to fly FPV. To fly FPV, you set up a camera on your aircraft and send the video feed through an on board transmitter to the ground. You, as the pilot...

    Rctimer motors. Opinions?

I've had two sets of RCtimer motors for many years. I still have a set on a quad that I use for FPV. The ones I have are solid! Always smooth running and not even any bearing issues. They are the smaller BC 3836-11 motors. I hate having to use Collete adapters, but no problems ever. the escs...

Wanted: 22mm tube Clamps (aluminum prefered)

I am working on a project and came up short on some clamps. I need 8 more clamps to fit around 22mm CF tube. I don't feel like waiting two weeks for some distant seller to deliver 8 clamps. Anyone in the USA have any sitting around they want to sell? Let me know what you have.

    Cinestar 3-axis camera gimbal

I would suggest just building it to fit your camera. Leave space for AV out wires. If you need 25mm plastic clamps, I have a ton for sale, but I would suggest aluminum clamps. You need 8 tubes for 3 axis. (camera tray tube). 200mm x 25mm tubes are stock, but I have even changed some out to fit...

    Hoverfly Something BIG coming soon!

Excited to have a new brushless controller option. I know it will be user friendly which will be great..... But, honestly HF, that was a bit anticlimactic. I sure would like to dust off this GPS. Why not just release all of the info?

    Asked a Thousand Times

Start small, you will never outgrow it, but you will build or buy another. Basically, your first one WILL crash. Make sure parts are easy to source. I still have all of the pieces and parts from my first build and still use them to build trainers or goof around quads. Don't spend too much on...
