You don't want to mount the fpv camera on the gimbal. You will not know what attitude your MR is in if it is being stabilized by the gimbal. That is why you use a second camera, not really for redundancy. You can use a switching device to toggle back and forth between the two cameras to check...

I use an 8fg for flying and cam ops. Figure it is a good way to have a backup if one has issues. It is easily to find 8fg radios used in the $200 range and you will know already be familiar with the system.

You should not have to change the values. Defualt on your 8FG would be manual up and GPS down. That is what mine is. To change this and have Manual Down and GPS up, then just reverse the channel. You inspired me to go ahead and change mine. Just live I have on my HFP. That is all you need...
