    Bad Day Flying

Always a shame to hear stuff like this. Good to hear all the electronics survived. Do you think the prop broke or came off the motor shaft? Or do you think it fractured?

Mikrokopter MK Firmware 0.88 online now

Happy Easter guys. Ken, that video looks good. Love that little FPV quad. Need to build something like that myself. The last few days I've finally been able to do serious testing with the .88 firmware using a Cinestar 8 with CS360° gimbal. I started by installing a 5.5lb slab of stainless...

Competition is certainly benefiting us end users. :)

BTS Cinestar 360 mount construction and programming

No problem. Was just curious to make a comparison. btw, I'm using a similar LiPo alarm but I wired it directly to the batt connector (and heat shrunk it to one side) so that it's always in-line when the batt is plugged in.

Mikrokopter MK Firmware 0.88 online now

Dave, I don't have a Y6 but I've had real nice performance with .88 on a flat eight. Just about all of the feedback I've seen regarding .88 is positive so the odds are with you. :)

BTS Cinestar 360 mount construction and programming

Enjoyed watching those. Did you happen to weigh the entire mount with everything on it except the camera?

Mikrokopter Un-commanded Yaw Issue ! Someday's Mikrokopters Just Weren't Meant to Fly !

anaka, the first thing to try is setting your Compass Effect value to zero in the Misc tab. If that cures the yaw issues you could either leave it that way, try further rearranging your power cables or reposition the NC out on a boom away from the stack.

Mikrokopter navi & gps boom mounted fix magnetic error 22 in Cinestar 6

Finally got around to moving the NC out onto the boom along with the GPS and testing it. Prior to that I never had any calibration failures or magnet errors but there was some magnetic disturbance that effected the compass in flight. That's gone with the new placement. I re-enabled CE and no...

SkyJib and basic HL settings for MK Toolz

Both of my MK setups do this as well. Not sure why but it does not effect flight performance. Do you happen to have a regular MK power disto board you could install to check it against the AeroDrive? Swapping that out would be a pain in the *** but at least then you could isolate the issue one...

SkyJib and basic HL settings for MK Toolz

The octo2 vs octo would shift every motor address over by one. Worth checking. One other thing you could do to further verify proper motor assignments is set the min gas to 0, remove all props and then start up the copter, lift it and do some aggressive tilts in each direction to see how the...

SkyJib and basic HL settings for MK Toolz

Just stabbing in the dark but are you sure all the fundamentals are good? Octo2 vs octo config? ACC is calibrated? Props not installed backwards? Did you go through the motors with props off and do a motor test via tools on each one to verify proper address and spin direction? Does the 3D gyro...

Mikrokopter navi & gps boom mounted fix magnetic error 22 in Cinestar 6

Yes. http://www.quadrocopter.com/CineStar-GPS-Mounting-Assembly_p_402.html Hey Casey, are you able to keep the Compass Effect enabled after moving the NC and GPS to the boom?

SkyJib and basic HL settings for MK Toolz

Well my setup is different but similar. CS8 with 360° gimbal that's about 14lbs AUW. I think you're right these big suckers are probably slow to respond relative to a small birds but the changes I made from stock settings were to make everything even slower. I dialed down the Stick and Gyro...

Mikrokopter MK Firmware 0.88 online now

Holger writes on the wiki that you should not attempt to load previous configuration files from prior firmware versions into the kopter after updating. I used ALT+print screen to take screen grabs of the various tabs on the settings window and then used those as reference to adjust things with...

New Power Distro Board for High Power apps!

It's possible the surface and finish of the solder might look like crap because it is the RoHS lead-free type. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on how this board performs.

Help with what lipos to buy

I do think 60+C could have a place for certain applications. Flying truly heavy rigs in hot temps would benifit from the lower IR for example. For pro applications where performance is valued above all else 65C packs would be just another specialized tool for occasional use as needed. This...
