Yes...that's the problem. Last I checked, the US warehouse doesn't stock them either. You have to order from China and pay through the nose for shipping and wait till they get bored (or sober up) from the Chinese New Year to get them to actually ship. ....sT

    DJI "NEW" 10" Props

Not to mention that TopFlite has absolutely horrendous manufacturing quality control. The great majority of their magnetic balancing units have an included shaft which is out of balance all by itself. Difficult to balance a prop when your equipment is lying to you. All of this is a real...

Hoverfly Pro or Wookong FC for new X8 ?

Stacky, thanks for the advice. As I already have it installed, I'm keeping the WKM and F550 combo. The HF boards are for a new build I'm planning. I'm getting them second-hand so I am sure I'm going to be wandering around a bit before I get it all sorted. ....sT

Hoverfly Pro or Wookong FC for new X8 ?

There's an understatement! I contacted DJI with a highly technical question about my WKM......their response was 'Go away, ask your dealer' I explained that this was obviously not the sort of information that a dealer was likely to know anything about or even be able to provide. ......their...

New Legislation enacted in MO yesterday

I've Had It With DJI ESC's.....advice?

UPDATE: Bought the Maytech 40A Opto's about three or four weeks ago. I've had probably ten flights on them. Monday, one failed in flight. Just stopped turning during a simple hover. I re-programmed the ESC and re-calibrated the throttle and that seems to have made it happy as it will now...

    CBS Sunday Morning interview

You might point out the racket these things make. Everyone seems to be hearing 'drone' and 'camera' and etc.....so the first thing they start worrying about is window peeping and the like. If a FlameWheel was hovering outside my window, I'd certainly hear it coming long before it got here...

    Aeroxcraft gopro gimbal HORRIBLE

I had an AXC GoPro gimbal which I used for quite some time until I moved up to his VTR-125 NEX gimbal. I never had any troubles with it. Of course, I didn't really expect it to walk on water either. For what it is, it was a great little bit of kit. I used the Futaba servos on mine....I...

F550 What wieght are you flying with

I usually use the Sigma 19mm f/2,8 prime lens. Other times....the Sony 35mm f/1,8 OSS prime. (I save my Nikon gear and glass for safer pursuits) ....sT

F550 What wieght are you flying with

Camera is an NEX-5n (however, in that pic what you see on the gimbal is a dummy load weighing the same as the NEX. The dummy load is two rolls of nickels plus two nickels.....that is within 0.1oz of the same weight) The major weight items are the camera, the gimbal (AeroXcraft VTR-125...rather...

I've Had It With DJI ESC's.....advice?

Actually, I suspect our total weights are probably pretty close to the same. That is, unless you've got yours also loaded with FPV kit. What sort of flight times are you getting with the paralleled 4S batteries? ....sT

How Do You Throttle Calibrate an ESC with Red Wire Cut?

When plugging the ESC cable into the throttle port, do you need to lift the red wire....or can you just go straight in? (Presuming you've already powered the rcvr with a BEC, that is.) (I'm using MayTech's btw) .....sT

Here's a new one about regulations...

Hmmmm.....I suspect this has little to nothing to do with regulation. My guess is that this was more about insurance coverage. I have known insurers to come up with some terribly oddball prerequisites at times. ....sT PS -- btw...I am a licensed pilot with numerous ratings, not to...

I've Had It With DJI ESC's.....advice?

OK.....for those in the know, here's another probably stupid question...... To program the 40A Opto's: As the opto's do not have a BEC, can I place them individually in the circuit with the WK-M and program each of them there.....or do I have to program them away from any affects of the WK-M...

I've Had It With DJI ESC's.....advice?

Yes...I've looked into the flash procedure. And I am with you.....while I suspect I'd be able to muddle my way through eventually, I'm afraid I'd have a casualty or three by the time I got it figured out. Think I'll pass. Unless I just HAVE to, I'll just program for 16kHz and call it a day...

I've Had It With DJI ESC's.....advice?

I'm afraid not. I have sent two emails in an attempt to get an answer to that and a few other questions. As of yet, there has been no response of any sort beyond the robotic reception emails claiming that the inquiry was received. ....sT
