The DX9 is nice, I went to Futaba for the easy S-bus connection (1 Cable). I love the 14SG, also use the 8FG, which is also a 14 channel when used with S-bus. Not sure if they still offer the 8FG, but it was a heck of a deal since the number of channels and functionality was the same as 14SG...

Good question, there is not much integration beyond being able to control your shutter. The rest of the camera adjustments need to be done on ground, which is ok, but sure makes one miss the remote adjustment functionality of the Inspire. The still photos seem to be very similar between the GH4...

Agreed, I think it really depends on what you're in it for. RTF machines have come so far that they became a great, mostly hassle-free tools for AP/AV. For drone racing, there are some nice RTF entry level copters, but building your own seems to be the way to go and a large part of the fun...

Not too shabby, I'm sure all these building skills will come handy if you ever get to the FPV racing part of the hobby. I built a few machines before there were any decent AP RTF rigs available, and had a blast doing it!

Oh, good to know your gimbal is standalone, a direct connection to your receiver should be fine then. Manuals are over-rated:)

You're welcome, glad it helped. I do not use spot metering, it is inconsistent. I was really happy to get to the Inspire myself, for the excellent remote camera control options it offers. Would you mind sharing some of your work with Agisoft here?

I think this summer may be a bit optimistic for the 107, maybe 2018. Good news is that you'll be able to buy an Inspire3 by then:)

I'm there with Maxx, Futaba 14SG. It's a really reliable controller, and S-bus makes it easy to connect to most flight controllers with only one wire, making for really clean installs. I've has Spectrums before, their 18 channel is nice, I still keep a 9 channel Spectrum for my bind&fly toys.

I'd say a variable arm angles may be cool-most racing quads already have tilted motors, wonder if there would be some benefit to making this tilt variable.
