What a marvellous video. But looked like it was sped up all the way?
That would have them more time to orchestrate it all.

From the bts article -

the video was done in one continuous shoot taking approximately 50 to 60 tries to get it right...The video was then filmed in double-time to evoke Hollywood choreographer Busby Berkeley's signature manic style.

To coordinate everyone moving in synchrony to the parking lot for the final setup, Harano set up enormous speakers and played "I Won't Let You Down" at half-speed, which "allowed for more precise movements even with the complicated choreography," he says.

As I understand it, the band had to shoot this video in Japan because there wasn't a legal way to do it here in the States.

The group "UAV Grassroots" has lined up Ok Go to play a concert in DC this Wednesday, Jan 21, specifically to advocate for the responsible use of drones in the US. It's being sponsored by the Small UAV Coalition, and the goal is to get the attention of lawmakers on the hill.

Not sure if there's space left, but check it out if you're in the area. Good publicity promoting the positive commercial use of sUAS!
