S900 Owner's Thread and Mini Build Log

The logs I'm referring to are the logs for the hard landing. I never heard anything back and the same strange corkscrew into the ground happened again. This time I wasn't over ground though. Yes the props were T-motor CF 12x4. Obviously I can't give you logs for the ocean landing. The...

Crash logs. BTW Ed, anything ever come of the crash logs I sent you? Never heard anything back and it happened again and I lost my entire rig including my BMPCC. Went down in the ocean.

Does the 'less pucker factor' come from the lower cost or more maneuverability?

Good question. I'm trying to decide between and S900 and S1000 right now. What kind of flight times are you getting with the S1000 and BMPCC? I will probably stick with the BMPCC but may get a GH4 and gimbal too. Is it easy to swap gimbals on these or would that be unrealistic?

Was the wandering when you were rotating introduce by you or normal behavior?

    Hoverfly Something BIG coming soon!

How ironic. I've seen the name Hoverfly around for awhile but because of this thread went to their webpage for the first time. Turns out I live 4 miles from their office.

Commercial flights deemed legal... Trappy won!

I wonder if there's some really simple way around the whole FAA issue. If part of the aircraft never leaves the ground, is it an aircraft? If I had a long string tied to it and the string comes down to the ground or is attached to a fixed object, am I an aircraft?

Commercial flights deemed legal... Trappy won!

Not to mention I'm sure many of these fields are being crop dusted by full size aircraft without any issues.

Commercial flights deemed legal... Trappy won!

Looks like the FAA didn't get the memo. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/faa-orders-nationals-to-stop-flying-drone-at-spring-training-182122323.html Big Government is at it again, and not even the baseball team located in our nation's capital has been spared it's overreach...

    NAZA M hard landing

I'm not sure that's it. It was flying perfect. I can yaw perfectly without any TBE. I never have any TBE when flying. This was a loss of input control and the aircraft was not acting like it was rotating around a point off the center of the aircraft. It was like it was spinning around...

    NAZA M hard landing

I was flying my hexacopter this weekend and had been adjusting gains. I've noticed that on descent I get kind of a corkscrewing motion so I'd been playing around with the vertical gain. I'd just lowered it by 10 and flew away from me about 50 feet. I was doing a slight climb and yaw at the...

    My brushless gimbal result

No worries. I've got most of my issues resolved. I think my main issue right now is that I have the gimbal hard mounted to the rails without any anti-vibration dampener. The VX5n seems weak in this area. I've been trying to find a solution that hangs the gimbal on the little rubber...

Home Inspector in Arizona Looking at Drone Options for Roof Inspections

You can get an IR emitter than can be hooked to your radio to control your camera functions. It basically replaces the handheld IR remote that is usually an accessory for your camera. Not sure what camera you intend to use but all the DSLRs use them and the NEX cameras I believe have IR...

Home Inspector in Arizona Looking at Drone Options for Roof Inspections

Wow, didn't know this. I'm in Florida and have hired a couple of home inspectors. They've always gone up on the roof. It's probably more important here with hurricanes to make sure everything is as it should be. I completely understand the potential for injury on ladders and roofs and can...
